The Lady Yotes have a tough test against UC Bakersfield today. UCB is only 1-3 but two of the 3 losses were on the road to Oregon and California. They have a lot of height. GO GET EM YOTES!!!

If the Coyotes can beat UC Riverside they should be to beat Cal State University Bakersfield. But ya never know when it comes to a road game how a team will play though.

The Yotes are warming up and now lead 19-10. Bakersfield also lost to Southern Utah but beat Hawaii. Last year they finished 8-6 in a weak WAC conference. Their overall record was 12-19.
21-10 after the first. So far so good. Let's put these Road Runners out of their misery early today.

32-12 Coyotes. I don't think there is any video for this game but it doesn't take a genius to figure out that the Coyotes are playing well today. They are getting well deserved lay ups.

41-28 Coyotes at half. Bakersfield cut it to 10 but Bradley hit a three just before the end of the half to extend the lead again.

Coyotes in firm control after the 3rd quarter buzzer at 62-40. It is certainly looking good now for a 2-0 California trip. All in all wins vs Tulsa, Riverside and Bakersfield and a loss vs Arkansas is not a bad trip at all.

75-60 is the final. The Coyotes went to the end of the bench for most of the 4th quarter so they could have won by well over 20 if they wanted to. Very nice and stress free win today.

Dominating win by the Lady Yotes and great new career high by Bradley with 26 and 9 of 11 shooting!! That warm California weather agreed with the Lady Yotes!

Dawn was saying that they weren't able to get a flight to make it back to Vermillion in time for school tomorrow but the upside is that they now get to do some shopping after a very businesslike trip. Shop away Yotes and way to make us proud in California.

looks like they are growing up real fast! Summit league play will be tougher, but I love the depth and experience we are building in the non-conference games. Agree with the comments about this team's defense being its strength, where last year our offense was pretty unstoppable.
I think 2nd or 3rd in the league would be a good goal for this young team. SDSU is realistically going to own the Summit on the girls side, but there's no reason we can't be competitive. It will be fun seeing these players develop and to see Coach P's vision for scheme develop.
Go Yotes!

Usually defense will carry the day and is usually there on a game in and game out basis. Offense tends to come and go more. The team last year was really never special until they started to play on the defensive end of the court. Once they did that they became a much better team. When the Jacks come in early in the conference season they will be the more talented team but that doesn't guarantee them a win in the SCSC. This will be their first trip inside the new arena and it should be very loud in there during that game. It will make it difficult the the Jacks to score because of both the Yotes defense and because of the crowd noise. That will be an interesting game for sure.
