Tip time 6 PM. There are about 50 in attendance 20 minutes before game time. Only need about 2950 more for a home court advantage. Going coyotes 74-63.

35-33 Illini at half. About 1K in attendance and when they decide to cheer it helps a lot. Yotes did not play their best especially on D. Big run at the end to cut a 9 point defecit to 2.

Not sure the 2-3 zone is cutting it right now.

IL hitting 4 3s in the final minute made it look closer than it was, but that is now 3 in a row vs. B1G.

77-68 final. When watching the teams warm up and seeing the first 2 minutes i was of the opinion that there was no way illinois was beating this coyote team in a 40 minute game at the SCSC. The defensive performance was better in the second half. Bradley got the ball rolling with a trey and one followed by another long bomb to go from tied to up 7 and the yotes took it home the rest of the way. Big 10 or not USD is simply better and illinois was actually pretty lucky to only lose by 9.

Those that were there: how do you guys think we will stack up against the summit?

At this point the coyotes should be the favorite for 2nd place. They play good both home and road and dont normally have big lapses in their play especially for their youth. Considering the turnover the Yotes get an "A" grade. How can you ask much more of this team.

Unfortunately couldn't watch the women's game. Appears the Yotes struggled early especially on D but played much better on D and O in the 2nd half. Impressive win against IL for the 2nd year in a row!! Nice to see some other players contribute big time to the scoring!! GO YOTES!!!

Those that were there: how do you guys think we will stack up against the summit? We will be playing for the title in Sioux Falls. As an outsider I'm not going to argue against USD and SDSU playing for the title again (although I would say IUPUI has a leg up on you right now based off how they looked curb stomping Missouri). However, I would caution against being too excited about beating Illinois (even though they are a P5 team). For context go I would say watch the first half of the SDSU versus Arkansas Pine Bluff game on ESPN3. Then when you are trying to decide if APB may be one of the worst D1 schools you have ever seen, you have to realize they held the lead on the road against Illinois going into the 4th quarter. Illinois will be lucky to win a B1G game this year. I must say I have been impressed with the young players you have. The younger Arens really took a step forward from last year. Hope you guys continue to have success and look forward to a couple (or 3....) future matchups. It's been a smooth transition between coaches for you, so hats off your coaching staff. I just wish our men's team could say the same....

IUPUI had a lot of ground to make up on the Coyotes so I think USD deserves the benefit of the doubt when comparing programs. IUPUI may finish higher but I also wouldn't bet on it either. The Coyotes have played the tougher overall schedule and have a higher RPI but as we all know that isn't the bible of team strength either. Consider as well that basically everything went Illinois' way in the first half. They were making tough shots and the Coyotes weren't playing that well either. The only blemishes are a close loss at Arkansas and a close loss at Wyoming. Not really all that much to hang their heads over. The Jacks didn't really have a very good performance up in Grand Forks either. UND looks to be a bit down this year and the Jacks stuggled with them a little more then I expected.

I've gotta say I thought losing Hemiller would be just as big of a loss as Seekamp but I've been blown away by Allison Arens this year. Did not see her emergence coming at all. I think we're in for a treat for the next 3 years with an Arens/Bradley backcourt.

Are we not expecting either Trimboli or the elder Duffy back this year? It would be awesome to see what Allison Arens could do with those two on the wings (with Bradley too).

Not sure about Trimboli, but I believe they already turned in paperwork to try to get Duffy a 6th year. Maybe if they know thats getting denied they would try to get her back in late February, not really sure.
