We will be playing for the title in Sioux Falls. As an outsider I'm not going to argue against USD and SDSU playing for the title again (although I would say IUPUI has a leg up on you right now based off how they looked curb stomping Missouri). However, I would caution against being too excited about beating Illinois (even though they are a P5 team). For context go I would say watch the first half of the SDSU versus Arkansas Pine Bluff game on ESPN3. Then when you are trying to decide if APB may be one of the worst D1 schools you have ever seen, you have to realize they held the lead on the road against Illinois going into the 4th quarter. Illinois will be lucky to win a B1G game this year. I must say I have been impressed with the young players you have. The younger Arens really took a step forward from last year. Hope you guys continue to have success and look forward to a couple (or 3....) future matchups. It's been a smooth transition between coaches for you, so hats off your coaching staff. I just wish our men's team could say the same.... Illinois isn't a big win. It's cool to beat a team from the Big Ten, but if you slapped WIU or Oral Roberts jerseys on that team I never would have been able to tell the difference.

Imagine the depth on the team if both Trimboli and Duffy are back next year plus any new recruits and all the returners that will be coming back. The bench would go 10 deep easily.
I know Coach Plitzuweit talked about the team being flexible. I really see that in the three point shooting. Even Fogg and Liveringhouse are jacking up threes this year. Is there anyone on the team that can't realistically shoot the three. If teams are going to take away Arens I can live with Jaycee firing away from deep all night long. She rocks at that part of her game.

I think I could tell the difference because I would ask "what happened to Oral Roberts". I do agree that Illinois isn't great and I think they were able to stay in the game because they were throwing up some less than inspiring shots that were going in in the first half. That changed in the second half though. Illinois is probably still good enough to be a mid level Summit team though.

The SCSC is a neutral site from where the championship game was played last year. It wouldn't exactly be the worst thing in the world to be in the WNIT final game for a second year in a row. If I knew that was the senario I would take it.

Not sure where to ask this....so it's going here. How long are Duffy and Trimboli supposed to be out?

Not sure where to ask this....so it's going here. How long are Duffy and Trimboli supposed to be out? There really hasn't been anything significant for news about it. It does appear that the majority opinion is that neither will likely be back this year but any news you hear will probably be news to all of us. It also may come down to whether either or both will be able to get an additional year from the NCAA. If either is not able to there may be a big effort to get that athlete on the court by the end of the year. If a red shirt is allows I doubt that athlete would be coming back even if they were ready.

Duffy's out for the year if they petitioned the NCAA to give her another season.

Duffy's out for the year if they petitioned the NCAA to give her another season. I think they're testing the waters. If they don't think they have a good shot I think they'll try to get her back by the end of the year

I'm just going off a post by somebody else that said the paperwork had been filed. If that's the case, she's done for the year. By filing the paperwork, you forego the season.

I can understand if she got approved for the additional year that she would be done for this year. If she filed the paperwork and it came back declined before the season was over I don't know how the NCAA could ban her from playing this year if she was able to. Don't know how it technically works but that would be extremely unfair if just by filing paperwork she would be done this year regardless of the results.

Well, I'm just telling you, that's not how it works. Life isn't always fair.
