The Spartans are a Mountain West team so that offers some extra interest but they aren't a very good one. They do offer the Coyotes some challenges as they like to play past on both ends of the court. They are only 2-8 on the year but they seem better than that. The Coyotes have been dissecting them on offense and doing enough on defense to make their life difficult.
Yotes leads 49-28 at half and have been playing very well this afternoon.

84-69 is the final for the Coyotes. The Yotes kind of coasted home after being up by nearly 30 in the 3rd quarter. The game was not really this close. The Yotes pulled off the throttle and had the end of the bench in the game for awhile as well.
The Coyotes played well throughout the game when the game was in any semblance of doubt.

San Jose State is garbage, but the team improves to 8-2 on the year with non-conference games against an NAIA school, Northern Illinois, and Southern Illinois remaining. I believe we should win all three of these games to go into conference play at 11-2, maybe we drop one of the games against directional Illinois to go 10-3. Never did I anticipate this team to have such success in the non-conference, these girls are entirely exceeding the expectations I had for a squad that graduated 5 seniors and is missing 2 projected starters (for the season?) due to injury. Even our incredibly talented 2015 team went 9-4 in the non-conference, albeit against a tougher schedule (2015 Kansas State, Washington, and UNI may be better than anyone we face in 2016).
This isn't even a squad that has played a lot of minutes, let alone minutes with each other given the true freshmen that are in the mix. Our starting 5 had the following average minutes last year:
Fogg - 10 mpg Allison Arens - 8.5 mpg Bradley - 11.3 mpg Bridget Arens - 15.4 mpg Ciara Duffy - 0 mpg (was in high school)
The incredibly low experience this squad has together leads me to the assumption that they will only continue to improve the more they play together. I'm already impressed with how they've performed in the non-conference and they have me so confident that I've already had time off work approved for March 6 and 7 to watch this team play for the title in Sioux Falls.
Things can change though. We are very thin. Any (further) injuries and we may be in serious trouble. We have heavily depended upon our starting 5 and Mckeever, our 7th most used player is Liveringhouse at 10.1 mpg. Stay healthy and we are poised to go to a 5th straight Summit League title game. Lose another key player and we may in for a rough time.

As the season goes on you have to think that Liveringhouse will get more minutes... I assumed she would be starting this year but Fogg and B. Arens have been solid in the 4/5 spot
