As an neutral viewer. Usd was hosed Thank You !! Taking lakes opinion to make yourself feel better? haha But seriously SDSU was obviously the more aggressive team in the 2nd half. There is no doubt about that. USD settled for jumpers. Complain all you want but the yotes had chances to ice the game but the moment got to them (except for mooney). What calls were blatantly missed?

As far as I am concerned who really cares and that is coming from someone that always likes the updates. That is not to diss your post but tonight my opinion is that I don't want to have anything to do with the Summit League and my feeling as of now is that I would be not very hurt if the Summit and it's corruption just disbanded. Once the Coyotes are out to me everything else is irrelevant. All this does is create pain either way. The Coyotes are supposed to be ahead of Omaha on the pecking order so either Omaha gets the glory or the SDSU Douple's get the glory. I don't like either option so can I please choose none of the above. I am not exactly loving the Mavericks right now since they took out our women. I wish IUPUI would have won but it is what it is. All I can say... anyone but the bunnies. That's for damn sure. I hope I am wrong but just wait and see. The same crap will happen to Omaha unless they get like 30 points ahead at some time. And then it will probably still get close.

I agree with you SD4ever with the notion that the time is NOW. Tyler doesn't get another shot at this. Just think of the Coyote fans that might not get to witness another Summit Tourney before their time on earth comes to an end. The NIT (and I am sorry from bringing that word up again as it is kind of a swear word tonight) is a nice tourney but nothing but a consolation prize that pales in comparison. Most likely there will be no home games and a one and done is a very good possibility. This will be nothing like what the women did. No one dreams about being in the NIT.

Daum chest bumped Flack as he was driving in the lane that was an obvious miss and threw Flack off as he was trying to get up a shot which was part of the 11:00 minute span. The Coyotes kept driving inside and drawing contact and couldn't get any whistles. Daum was running over people without getting called. Can ya really blame them for taking outside shots when no whistles were being blown. Do you really believe that SDSU went 11 straight minutes without committing a foul? If the script was flipped and SDSU was the regular season champ and the calls were against them by that margin there would be nuclear warheads being gotten ready in Brookings.

I still say the SF Sports Authority and the SL got exactly what they wanted. And it is what they will want tomorrow night too. I feel sorry for Omaha and their fans already.
I will be watching very carefully for sure.
Maybe freaking Fargo ought to have the thing for a few years. What a pathetic thought on my part. Slap me please.

One of the most frustrating things to watch was State players constantly knocking our guys backwards on the way to the hoop with nothing being called, and if our guys did try to chest up and play hard defense they would call a foul on us. It's like you just had to just let them do it then hope they missed the bunny. And it seemed State was free to go flying in on the boards, but whenever we went for a contested rebound they called a foul. Daum's only foul was when he intentionally grabbed Hurst to stop a layup. Had he not intentionally fouled, they wouldn't have called one on him all game long. That's amazing. I just wish we were allowed to defend him the way he defends us. What's crazy is we are a really athletic team that draws a lot of fouls, but somehow we couldn't buy one tonight. And it's not like it was because they were letting them play, because we sure as hell weren't being allowed to play, especially the last 10 minutes of that game when the refs took over.
What sucks is we are probably losing more than State is after this year. We are losing a first team all conference player, State isn't losing much at all. Ya, I realize Orris had a career night tonight, but their is a reason he's not guarded. He's generally not very good. I think one would have to say we are losing more talent off this team than State is. Hopefully we improve more in the offseason than they do. To beat them in the SLT you are going to need to be about 10 points better than them. Tonight we were about 9 points better, and that's not going to be good enough.

We are losing a good player in Flack but there is plenty of talent coming back next year and I am unsure which player(s) will be joining the team that are not currently part of the rotation. Hagedorn is a little thin but very long and can at least provide a little rim protection. It's too bad with all the injuries that Flack had that we couldn't have him for one more year. It seems like the actual playing part of his time with the Yotes was so short. I would have to say that the two teams that should be 1 and 2 in the pre season polls will probably be the two South Dakota teams. The Bison have losses and I have to think that Omaha's good players have to be about graduating by now.

I would like to know what everyone has coming back. I think Denver once again has everyone back. I know they didn't look good at the end of the year, but for 3/4's of the year they were a very tough team. I guess I could look at everyone's roster and figure it out, but I'm sure someone on here actually knows the answers. What exactly is NDSU losing? I know Werner, hopefully some others.

If someone doesn't beat me to it I will go down the full rosters of all Summit teams and list who is being lost on each team. Not gonna happen tonight but maybe tomorrow. The Coyotes will be in the best shape they have been in for a few years in players coming back. They have not had that luxury in quite some time.

One team was rewarded for playing physically, the other harshly penalized every time they tried to be physical. Daum's bowling into guys every time down the floor and gets ONE foul, which was basically an intentional foul. Hell, 2 fouls in the final 11:30 on sdsu and they were both intentional. One iota of consistency from the refs and they pick up several fouls down the stretch. Any objective fan watching saw a screw job.

I was too exhausted to post last night, but what a game. As for the officiating, find me any close game that the winning team isn't ok with the calls and the losing team isn't upset with them. You can pick apart dozens of calls with replay for both sides (my personal favorite was at the 4:27 mark in the first half when Daum absolutely mowed over Peterson and Tyler was called for a block). State played well down the stretch, the Yotes not quite well enough. Missed free throws and turnovers had more to do with the final result as any poor officiating. Conspiracy.....really? It was a good game and we just came out on the short end.

What a fun game to be at. If Peterson makes one free throw at the end on the 1 and 1 USD wins. Yotes game plan was to make Orris beat us and he came up big. Congrats to the Jacks.

I don't blame the refs. The one guy that struggled on Saturday had his moments again, but they were consistent (not good, but consistent in what they did).
So I will say 2 things that are probably not going to be popular. 1) Watching SDSU fans after the game around me and in the concourse afterwards actually made me think 'I'm kind of glad we didn't win, because what if we would have looked like this?' 2) It is pretty obvious to all that this team won the conference a year earlier than anyone would have ever guessed, and I didn't really think they would win the SLT. Losing this way - a last second shot from an average player who had a career night - certainly stings, but it didn't sting near as long as I would have guessed.
Here is a bonus 3rd thing - I'm not sure I want the rabbits to lose to UNO. They will be a 16 seed, so unless they are spared and get a play-in game, watching them play Gonzaga or UNC could be pretty fun.
