Starting with the women
2013
won as 3 seed over 6 seed NDSU won as 3 seed over 2 seed IUPUI lost as 3 seed to 1 seed SDSU
2014
won as 4 seed over 5 seed Western Illinois won as 4 seed over 1 seed SDSU won as 4 seed over 6 seed Denver
2015
won as 1 seed over 8 seed Fort Wayne won as 1 seed over 5 seed IUPUI lost as 1 seed to 2 seed SDSU
2016
won as 1 seed over 8 seed Denver won as 1 seed over 4 seed Oral Roberts lost as 1 seed to 2 seed SDSU
2017
lost as 4 seed to 5 seed Omaha
So for the Women here are the numbers
win/loss 9-4 as higher seeded team 7-3 as lower seeded team 2-1 against SDSU 1-3, as a lower seed 1-1, as a higher seed 0-2 record against non SDSU teams 8-1
The conclusion is that the Coyotes are doing just fine but when they play SDSU they are not fairing well at all. The tourney advantage for the Jacks has stymied the Coyotes.
Men
2013
Lost as 7 seed to 2 seed Western Illinois
2014
Lost as 5 seed to 4 seed Denver
2015
Won as 5 seed over 4 seed IFPW Lost as 5 seed to 1 seed SDSU
2016
Lost as 8 seed to 1 seed Fort Wayne
2017
Won as 1 seed over 8 seed Western Illinois Lost as 1 seed to 4 seed SDSU
win/loss 2-5 as higher seeded team 1-1 as lower seeded team 1-4 against SDSU 0-2, as a lower seed 0-1, as a higher seed 0-1 record against non SDSU teams 2-3
Not much success for the men but in all but 2 games they have been the lower seeded team and it has shown on the court.
Overall for Men and Women combined
win/loss 11-9 as higher seeded team 8-4 as lower seeded team 3-5 against SDSU 1-5, as a lower seed 1-2, as a higher seed 0-3 record against non SDSU teams 10-4
I think the thing that stands out is the difference between how the team fairs in games against SDSU vs non SDSU games. There is a huge difference. It's not just that they aren't as good as them either because the biggest stat is the 0-3 record against them as the higher seed. That speaks volumes as far as SDSU's advantage, but because of the newly energized USD fan base that type of a record should get better through time. There is no question that the SDSU program has gone to many NCAA tourney both men and women that they would not have gone to had the tourney not been in Sioux Falls. This needs to also play into USD's hands at some point because so far it really hasn't.

Every time sdsu has gone to the big dance they have been one of the top teams if not the top team. To say they haven't been deserving is just plain dumb. You're turning into Lakes Jr. with those kind of comments.

You're turning into Lakes Jr. with those kind of comments. So if the regular season champ went to the tourney how many appearances would both the Jacks men and women have? Lets take a look. For the men if the #1 seed would get the automatic bid the Jacks men would have 2 tourney appearances but they actually have 3 tourney titles so a net plus 1. Here is where it gets interesting. Since SDSU has been eligible if the regular season champ got the auto big the Jacks Women would have 4 automatic tourney births. In actuality the Jacks have 7 tourney titles so that is a net gain of 3. The Jacks as a non #1 seed (which in most mid majors women's tourney's would mean going on the road) they have won 4 tourney titles. So in 4 of the 7 titles the Jacks won despite not being the #1 seed. Don't tell me that the Summit Tourney being in Sioux Falls is not helping the Jacks because it absolutely is. If anyone is Lakes Jr it is you buddy but I don't actually think Lakes is that bad because I make my own opinions about people. Both the Jacks men and women struggle quite a bit on the road compared to how good they are at home and at the Summit Tourney. The women as good as they have been struggle against the better teams on the road and have more poor road performances then the Coyotes women have in the Summit. Facts do kind of such don't they. I would venture to guess that if the Jacks played all of their Summit tourney games in Indiana and every time they played IPFW or IUPUI and one schoold brought 6,000 to the game and the other 3,000 to the game I have a feeling your tourney win's would be quite a few less then what they are now.

Sioux Falls definitely helps SDSU. They almost certainly wouldn't have won as many tournaments as they have. I think all SDS was trying to say is that it's not that crazy for a top 3 seed to win the conference tournament. They've always been that with the exception of this year. Also, if it wasn't in Sioux Falls, it doesn't mean it'd be a road game either. In all likelihood, it'd be closer to a neutral floor. We've seen the SLT in other locations. Outside of the Dakota Schools, other teams fan bases in the conference don't care as much or just aren't as big. They wouldn't bring 15% of the fans that SDSU/other Dakota school do.

Just a small correction in your data, Coyote Fan. The SDSU men have 4 tournament titles 2012, 2013, 2016 and 2017, not three. Overall the SDSU women are 22 and 2 in the tournament and the SDSU men are 17 and 5 for a combined 39 and 7 or almost 85% winning record.

SDSU does have an advantage but USD should have the same advantage. USD had their biggest crowd this season and it should only get better for them. The women have won 7 titles but how many of them were really an upset? They were the #1 seed three times. They were the #2 seed and beat the #1 seed twice. They were the #3 seed and they beat the #4 seed. They were the #3 seed and beat the #1 seed. Unless you count the #1 vs #2 seeds as big upsets, they beat a team that was seeded higher then them by 2 spots once(#1 vs #3). Otherwise, they were the favorite or right with the team they were playing going into the championship game. ----- The SDSU men were the #2 seed in 2016 and they beat the #5 seed. In 2012, the SDSU men were the #2 seed but they beat the #4 seed. They were the #1 seed in 2015 and 2013 and won one time and lost the other. This season they were the #4 seed and they beat the #3 seed. Again, they did beat a team seeded higher than them but only by a tiebreaker. They do have an advantage but it helps when you are playing the #4 or #5 seed for the championship when you are the #2 or #3 seed. The other advantage is when you play a team right next to you in the standings(other then USD), they crowd can carry you to the win. I think that if USD gets up on SDSU, they should have the same advantage from here on out.

Coyote Fan,
I missed that it was written in the afternoon rather than after the game on that day. I should have used the work update rather than correction. My apologies.
