I saw both Maddie K. And Emma R. At the Pentagon game today. All the fans provided a great atmosphere, and the team performed well, too. Absolutely helps recruitment.

Now Coach P would like to close the deal and get a commitment from Maddie's HS and AAU teammate Jayme Horan. She is just as sought after as Maddie. Also a 2020. Looks like she just committed to Creighton, along with recently committed Emma Ronsiek and Morgan Maly (all with strong interest and/or offers from both USD and SDSU.) The Jays are cleaning up in recruiting right now. Maybe they will win a game vs a SD team one of these years...

Have to think Omaha metro has a lot to do with it. Because both SD teams are better than Creighton.

I had assumed that USD had offered since she retweeted a fair amount of what came out from Dawn or the Women's BB twitter feed. However, a couple weeks back, the Omaha paper had a feature on Jayme and her offers. USD was not listed. She did state that Nebraska and USD had been in contact and showing interest but there was no offer at the time. I am sure she will be a good player for Creighton but must not have been an exact fit for Dawn's needs at the time or else Dawn has her sights set even higher.

Have to think Omaha metro has a lot to do with it. Because both SD teams are better than Creighton. Yeah, there's that. Also the academic reputation of Creighton probably helps. Playing all those Big East teams on a regular basis is probably a draw, and Power-6 conferences get more at-large bids and an upper-hand in RPI. So I'd say Creighton offers an easier path to the national tournament. They went to the dance the last two years, despite not winning their conference, and finishing 4th last year with 7 conference losses and 13 overall losses. I'm hoping that the men's tournament dropping the RPI might lead to the women doing so as well. Too many good mid-major teams getting left out IMO.

That's true of Morgan Maly as well. Strong interest but no offer, although SDSU did offer her. I'm happy to be in the position of going head-to-head with our regional peers. We are winning many of those battles now, like with Maddie Krull, and Morgan Hansen, even if we lost out on Madysen Vlastuin (SDSU) and Emma Ronsiek (Creighton). Coach P and her assistants seem to be very selective with offers, and getting their share of the best regional recruits. There are still a couple of 2020 spots open, though. I'll be interested to see how that shakes out.

You want to know a little about Kyah? Google her name and read the story by the Argus on her winning the courage award. Her mother passed away from cervical cancer and this kid has percivered and played her butt off to honor her mother. Read the story and tell me you wouldn’t recruit this kid assuming she can at minimum walk and chew gum at the same time plus make a basket or two.
Good for Kyah. Another Coach P tougher than nails kid. Welcome to the good side.

Not sure on offers, but midco named her in the preseason top 5 for SD AA class, along with Ronsiek, Hansen and Ugofsky. I think there are often under-recruited kids from West River due to a lack of top club teams and visibility.
Hudl has her as a 5’-10” PG/SG/SF/PF, so that seems to support her as a versatile athlete for Dawn’s system.

Could be a great get. Her mom was one of this state’s all-time greats and her dad was a great player in his own right. The genes are definitely there. If Kyah can adjust a bit to the pace of the college game and keep developing her skills she could be a very, very good player.

Love when we are able to get SD kids. They all seem to have a grittiness about them and Kyah sounds like a great kid.

If Kyah can adjust a bit to the pace of the college game and keep developing her skills she could be a very, very good player. Her mom might be one of the most underrated players in South Dakota history because of the college choice she made. She could have played anywhere. Every player has to make adjustments for college hoops, some just do it quicker than others. How much have you seen her play at Stevens? Strengths? I think we got a good one here.
