Coyotes to Play in Sanford Pentagon Showcase

The University of South Dakota, Youngstown State University, the University of Southern Mississippi and the University of Northern Colorado are scheduled to be a part of the Sanford Pentagon Showcase Nov. 24-26.

The three-day event uses a round-robin format with two games each day.

Sanford Pentagon Showcase Schedule

Monday, Nov. 20 - Campus Game
Southern Miss vs. Blue Mountain (Mississippi)

Tuesday, Nov. 21 - Campus Game
Northern Colorado vs. Northern New Mexico College
Youngstown State vs. Westminster (Pennsylvania)

Friday, Nov. 24 - Sanford Pentagon
5:30 p.m. - South Dakota vs. Southern Miss
8 p.m. - Youngstown State vs. Northern Colorado

Saturday, Nov. 25 - Sanford Pentagon
4 p.m. - Northern Colorado vs. Southern Miss
6:30 p.m. - South Dakota vs. Youngstown State

Sunday, Nov. 26 - Sanford Pentagon
11 a.m. - Youngstown State vs. Southern Miss
1:30 p.m. - Northern Colorado vs. South Dakota

Should be a sweep I think. These teams had 9, 11, and 13 wins last year.

Taking a game in at the Pentagon is a great experience and this will hopefully draw a good number of the alumni base in Sioux Falls. It's too bad this is on Thanksgiving weekend though. Lotta big football that weekend. USD could be hosting a playoff game that Saturday (preseason optimism is abound).

The Sanford Pentagon is definitely a good thing for Coyote basketball. I am assuming these are games that do not have to be returned to the other teams home courts. Something to very much look forward to and who is going to complain about Coyotes basketball on back to back to back days. All winnable games but at least good challenges and can be losses without playing well.
