The Coyotes won an easy 3 setter in Macomb tonight. Good job Coyotes.

Up next: a revenge re-match in Fargo. The coyotes are a different team than they were the last time around. Home court advantage is strong up there, though. One of the two teams will leave with three conference losses. Big match.

I was at the match tonight and the ladies played really really well. Great job. We lost our 4th starter to a torn ACL in the fact Kearns blew out her knee last night in practice. The coaches have done a great job considering how many players are out. Good job gals, proud of you.

Yotes swept the Bison today in Fargo (25-23,27-25,26-24). Yotes move into 2nd place with a 7-2 conference record, Bison now 6-3.
SDSU 0-9 in conference so far, had to add that in.

That match tells me they have become mentally tough. That's a huge natch. Great job coaches and team. Big time win

That is about as close as a three setter can be. They won all three sets by the minimum margin a set can be won. Obviously the big points went the Coyotes way.

The gals won at home last night against Omaha improving our record to 9-2 in the league, 1/2 game behind Oral Roberts, a team we play Sunday. We finish out the week and regular season next week by playing SDSU and having Senior Night at home Friday against Denver. Omaha is also 9-2. Oral Roberts is 10-2 and have us and Omaha remaining.
Should we run the table, it would be a Summit League title. That in and of itself is a great feat, but consider the fact this team has lost 4 players to torn ACL's, and I think that speaks volumes for Coach Williamson and staff, and the grit the girls have. I watched them play a couple of weeks ago in Macomb on my way to Illinois State football game and they looked really good given all the injuries they've had. There are times we win ugly, but to me that's going to happen when you've lost that many players and people are put into new positions.
The fact they are in contention is amazing. Good luck gals. Get to the SCSC next Friday for the season final and back the pack.

Great post! I'm guessing you meant Denver, not Omaha in the first paragraph, though.
Does anyone know how common ACL injuries are in volleyball? Seems odd that we have so many. If there is something we could be doing differently in strengthening and conditioning, I hope we make that adjustment! That's a good injury to avoid, if possible.
ORU is tough this year and have an all-conference player. Milos, I think is her name. Last time we beat them we were hitting over .400! That's way above our average. Not sure we can count on a performance like that again, but nothing would surprise be with this team.
Good luck, ladies, and Go Yotes!

My daughter played college volleyball at the highest level and I can think of one ACL in 4 years. It's very uncommon and almost unbelievable we've had 4. #4 occurred at practice warming up the night before Western Illinois in Macomb. I'm not sure how that happens or how you prevent it unless you lock them on the bus. Remember 2-3 years ago and how many concussions football had? It was unreal. I think this is sorta the same thing...different injury

The Coyotes defeated the Jacks at Frost Arena 3-0 in a stroll in the park win. Unfortunately on Sunday they lost to league leading Oral Roberts. It looks like the Coyotes will fall short of the conference title this year but a very good year none the less considering all those ACL tears.
