gowyo.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=1816Looks like he will be a 2-for-2 graduate transfer, since he red-shirted his freshman year, and graduated in three years. He earned a scholarship (retro-actively) there as a redshirt sophomore PG. Side note: he was known as "The Governor" when playing at Wyoming. Good nicknames are always a plus in my book.

Not to be the downer here, but looking at his stats....doesn't seem like he can shoot very well. You would hope for better numbers from your point guard and a better assist/turnover ratio.

Griesel asked for his release as well according to a retweet by Jeremy Hoeck. Sounds like Sam received a scholarship offer from Creighton today per the Omaha World Herald. Edit, now the story says he wrapped up his unofficial visit. Not sure why the story changed.

Kind of petty and unnecessary, IMO. Moony '15 Air Force:45%/39%/79% A/TO = 1.63 1.9 Reb, 1.8 Asst, 1.1 TO, 0.1 Blk, 0.8 Stl, 6.9 Pts, 29 Games, 19.2 minKelley '18 Wyoming:39%/35%/64% A/TO = 1.88 2.4 Reb, 2.9 Asst, 1.5 TO, 0.0 Blk, 0.9 Stl, 5.2 Pts, 33 Games, 23.2 minSimpson '18 USD:45%/34%/66% A/TO = 1.79 2.1 Reb, 3.1 Asst, 1.7 TO, 0.0 Blk, 0.8 Stl, 8.5 Pts, 35 Games, 30.6 minI agree that Cody Kelley's shooting isn't that impressive. I would also say he is undersized at 5'-11". His Assist-Turnover ratio isn't bad, though. Better than any of our starters last year, including Mooney (1.28) and Simpson (those two combined for 214 assists last year). Armstrong was a little better at 1.92, but he was only getting 15 minutes a game. Keep in mind that Kelly's numbers were against the Mountain West, not a down Summit. Also, you can increase his stats per game by a factor of 1.32 to account for him getting 23.2 minutes vs Simpson's 30.6. (That changes Kelley's stats to: 3.8 Rebounds, 3.8 assists, 2.0 TO, 1.2 Steals, 6.8 points). That's more Rebounds/Assists/Steals per minute than Simpson. Watch Kelley's highlight videos (earlier in this thread). I like the way he plays. He is an "effort" kid and a "tough" kid. that's kind-of an intangible that you don't necessarily see in stats.

A High School highlight video for Cody Kelley
And a full Wyoming game, if you have time to watch it. (#10)

Here's another thing: Leadership. Check out how Kelley handles these post-game interviews. Keep in mind that at the time he was a Sophomore walk-on for the team. He's actually two years older than a typical Junior because of the year at a prep school after High School, and the red-shirt year. I noticed that Lee has a history of taking prep-school players. They are older, so maturity might be a factor.
