Wasn't Fakira offered by TCU and at least one other P5 school? He may have committed to a Summit League school, but that doesn't necessarily mean he's lower level talent. I have heard a few comments on this subject from good sources. I think a few items will come to light soon that may give you more comfort with our decision to cut his loose. Nothing controversial, just adding credibility to the decision. It isn't my news to break, however. I can only assume you are alluding to our upcoming signing of 3 All Americans.

Ha! I wish. No and I am now certain that others can confirm this as it was mentioned at Lunch with the U, but one of the new assistant coaches is from Australia is supremely credentialed in Australian basketball and has watched Fakira play MANY times. Fakira was not recruited to the school that this assistant is presently employed by. I am sure that you can figure out the rest.
Also, from what I understand, we are presently recruiting at least one (although I think more) Australian players. I think it is reasonable to assume that we could have kept Fakira.

Now that IS good news! Lee obviously thinks highly of Aussie players. He had two on his final Kentucky Wesleyan team, and two on his final GCU team...

If Australia can do for the men's team what it's done for the women's team then I'm all in. Our pep band might have to learn to play "Waltzing Matilda".

Saint Mary's of the prairie here we come. is that referring to always being the runner up to the best team in the conference or something else?

Ha simply referring to the Australian influence but can appreciate the smack talk. Daum is a special player for this league and state caught lightening in a bottle with him. I just hope once he is gone your basketball coach doesn't start drinking with your football coach.

The Australian connection has been good for USD on the women's side and may very well be on the mens as well

Looks like he was class of 2016 in High School. Here's a 2017 Juco highlight tape:
and another 2017 Juco one:
and a 2018 Juco one:
I don't have time to take a look today, but if some of you do, let us know what you think...

Looks like Caleb Nero committed to Weber State. The coach there is pretty well established, and they have been very successful in the Big Sky.
*edit: oops, sorry lynn, didn't see your post...

Is very talented. Can shoot the 3, appears to be fast and quick, great body control around the rim, smooth, etc. Appears to have the whole package. Would be a great addition!
