If you want to see the reaction of an angry fan board, go to Bidonville.com this morning. They are up in arms because it was announced last night that the SDSU-NDSU football game in Brookings is sold out. Tickets for the general public were to go on sale this morning. Which means that the Bison fans are locked out of getting a ticket unless they had a friend who was a season ticket holder buy for them. They are into all kinds of name calling etc. there are probably a 1000 or so fans who got tickets from friends but they won't have the 4-5 thousand fans their like they have for games against us in the past or against you when the game was in Sioux Falls. www.bisonville.com/forum/showthread.php?38339-NDSU-SDSU-Football-Game-official-info/page27

Funny the xdsus are having a fit over seats! Will be real embarrassing for the bunnies if there are a bunch of empty seats! I heard they're going to hand out free tickets to hobos walking the streets in B Town and point them toward the outdoor stadium LOL

What's the rumor? Did a large sponsor buy up thousands of tickets, or did the AD simply decide to close up shop?

My guess is a donor swooped in and bought up the rest of the tickets since it was sold out on the last possible day.

Perhaps the school approached local employers with great bulk deals. Give away 1000 tickets to Daktronics rather than sell them to the visitors. I wouldn't be upset if we did the same thing for State-U.

That would be nice for one of our donors to do when the Bunnies come to town... keep them and their darn cowbells out of the Dome. Do you think those are extra cowbells they have laying around or they take them off their prize heifer before driving down to the game...?

Who'd want to go to a game in Brookings anyway? All that happens is you risk having your car vandalized, some drunken, low IQ moron will be throwing f bombs at you. That's always a nice touch when there's little kids with you. On the other hand, it's not the responsibility of the home team to make sure tickets are available to fans from the visiting team. If a person wants one bad enough and is willing to pay, there's always a ticket to be had.

NDSU fans are still going to get enough through the secondary market etc.
I find it funny how much the XDSU's bitch about ticket selling strategies. As if any fan can get one for a game in FARGONE either.
The bunny wabbits were talking crap about USD's ticket selling strategy for the NDSU game in Sioux Falls and at home last year. Calling it shady. What do you call not releasing tickets to the general public to avoid NDSU fans from getting them? Or requiring you to buy season tickets the previous year to get one? Just another example of how out of touch the wabbit fanbase is. Everyone is in the wrong but them.
Personally I don't see a problem with any of the strategies.

You had to have season tickets last year for this? Oh god. I never want to hear SDSU fans complain about our ticketing strategy ever again. They've taken our idea and expanded upon it to make it even more exclusive, then subsequently just didn't bother selling the remaining tickets. Fully understand any complaining from NDSU on this if the stadium is as empty as their fan board speculates. Sure, you can't get a ticket to a game in Fargo, but that's because they legitimately sell out every game.

There were over 15,800 at the Drake game last Saturday, doubt if there are going to be many if any empty seats when playing NDSU.

NDSU fans will get in, but it will be much harder to do.
