*Bump*
Just bumping this thread, so that we can all pat ourselves on the back on our preseason takes. I would quote myself/other posters, but there are just too many hot takes to choose from.
Coyote Fan was spot-on with the small-ball take, City League nailed it on Duffy and the fact that it would be hard for this team to produce an all-conference player, due to sharing shots and minutes.
Not too many of us predicted being in first, but none of us ruled it out, either. I think Denver was actually the biggest surprise, this year. Good coaching. Look out for them in the future.

Seems to me, Duffy and Arens make All-League. Trimboli should be a shoo-in for Sixth Woman and Lamb gets on the All-Newcomer Team. Bradley, McKeever and Liveringhouse could all vie for another spot/honorable mention ... and I'd give McKeever some DPOY love, too, although I can't say that I've watched enough of the league to say she wins it.

Good guess. For DPOY I'd guess it goes to Martianez (ORU) or Braun (WIU), but I agree she should get some run there. Lamb could get a look for FOY, but Selland could make a case, too. She was a starter before her injury.

I agree on your DPOY thoughts ... I just hope that the tone McKeever sets for the best defensive team in the league is recognized. I wouldn't bet on her winning it but I think she deserves some consideration.

Spot on. My thoughts exactly and I'm still saying Duffy is POY. If they beat the bunnies a second time it should be a no-brainer. It's really hard to quantify a great defensive player. Kind of like porn...can't describe it, but you know it when you see it. Does that award come down to stats, rep or some other unmeasurable? Anyway, I'm sure the coaches know who's who in that regard. Who votes on this stuff anyway, the coaches or the writers?

Coaches, SID's and some media.

One of the things I have really liked when hearing Dawn's post game interviews is that she has been focused lately on being ready for what the opponent throws at you and making adjustments accordingly. She wants her players to be able to handle whatever is being thrown at them. The best coaches IMO are ones that can adjust quickly on the fly and that keep as much flexibility as possible. It seems like Dawn is keeping decent depth and just putting the best players on the floor regardless of size. I don't think she has to force a system onto her players but is willing to adjust her game plan around what her players do best. I just think there are so many things that can be done to combat size. As far as the Coyotes are concerned it's difficult to play them because of their tenacity and have many players that can do many things.
