I went the first year to see some non SDSU basketball at the tourney. I might have to catch that good Oakland team do some damage. Could they be good enough to put a cinderella run together at the NCAA tourney? I am hoping that Oakland wins the tourney and gets a win at the big dance.

I was hoping to go and cover it, but it sounds like that isn't in the cards and the sports editor is going to do it, even though I confused him with saying IUPUI last night haha. Maybe I can convince him since I know what's going on in the Summit League.

I plan to attend for my very first time (if the weather conditions allow for unstressed travel across South Dakota.) I bought my tickets in late summer or early fall. The Jackrabbit section was sold out long before I got my tickets. I think the lady at the window in the arena sold me tickets in the heart of the Oral Roberts section.
I do hope to see a number of USD fans in attendance. A display of a wider fan base should only increase the confidence of the Sioux Falls group which puts together the bid to host the tourney to continue to be aggressive as they submit future bids to keep it in Sioux Falls. And if anyone care, I think you should be fully decked out in your red and white Coyote wear. There might be a few fans there from the other schools. Let's show them that the state of South Dakota loves their teams, whether they are in red or blue!

If my schedule and travel conditions comply then I plan on attending. I will be in RED. It is important the tournament has a great turnout so the league has no other option but continue to have the Dakota area as the host.

Agreed. The more people in the seats, the easier it is to convince the Summit League to keep the tourney in SF. It would be great to drive to SF and watch USD when they start playing in the tourney. Watching in person is way better than listening on the radio. (Sorry RJ)

Oakland looks to be clear favorite on the men's side. Douple said today Oral Roberts second best player is hurt and likely won't be playing. ORU is #2 in the nation in scoring on the women's side. I can't remember her nam but I know ORU has a stud of the women's team. Should be a good tournament. We need as many Yote fans to support the tournament and make an appearance. The better the attendance the higher likelihood this tournament stays in Sioux Falls. Douple did say the biggest thing hurting Sioux Falls for hosting the tourney is flights are expensive. Many teams fly into Omaha then bus up here. That sucks. Frontier should help that.

They should close Joe Foss to commercial

After a fun weekend of basketball and watching two painful SDSU victories yesterday I have come to a few conclusions:
1. SDSU men will get crushed by Oakland tonight. 2. SDSU women are still pretty good and will give Oral Roberts fits, but OR still wins the tournament. 3. IUPUI is very athletic and long, and may give Oakland a game in the championship, but I still don't see anyone beating Oakland.
Great crowds yesterday. I can see why the other ADs hate having the tournament in SF, but I can see why the Summit stays here. Another day of attendance records. Let's just hope when the 2013 tournament site is announced in May (I think that is when it is announced) that it stays in SF for a few more years. Can you imagine what that place will look like when it is half Red and half Blue. It will be like the old Holiday Hoopla NCC winter tournament, but only better and with more at stake.
Go out to some games if you haven't already. And wear Red for crying out loud. I bet I saw 20 USD people yesterday and none were wearing red. I stuck out like a soar thumb, I was the only person in the entire section wearing red. It was great. The guy next to me had a priceless look on his face when he walked around the corner and saw me. It was like, oh crap I get to sit by the one USD fan. There were two NDSU fans in front of me, but otherwise the entire section was SDSU.
And I'm wearing red again today..... Go Yotes.

I only saw one guy in USD red yesterday. It might have been you. (West side - middle aged?).
I was hoping that USD fans would attend, and believe that you should support your team.

They played twice this year and both games were 9pt difference so i dont know if they get crushed. They get crushed if SDSU plays like they did last night. The crowd might help keep the game close but i think Oakland still wins.

That may be true, I know you played them tough. But the SDSU women won by 9 points and I would say the game was never in doubt- basically a blowout of NDSU. Meanwhile, the SDSU men won by 10 and the game was very much in doubt with 30 seconds left - it was a four point game at that point.

Maybe next year you can go watch the Coyotes in person and bring your radio along and listen, just to make sure I know what I'm talking about. LOL RJ
