One thing the open concourse design allows: the easiest seating expansion there is. Simply put a drink rail with tall-top chairs around some/all the top rows like the Xcel Center. Could expand by several hundred.

updated seat count: (11/12/19) 475--Section 101(NE Corner) 520--Section 102 (Students) 520--Section 103 (Band/Students) 539--Section 104 (SE Corner) 310--Section 105 414--Section 106 310--Section 107 538--Section 108 (SW Corner) 472--Section 109 (West General Seating) 472--Section 110 (West General Seating) 567--Section 111 (NW Corner) 227--Section 112 228--Section 113 227--Section 114 102--Club 42---Courtside 5,963 Total (including handicapped seating) So the general seating on the west side (sections 109 and 110) is again view-able seat-by-seat. I was able to get an accurate count of 472 per section. They are identical. If the tunnel was removed, as it is on the east side in the student section, that would add another 48 seats per section. That's how I got the 520 numbers for sections 102 and 103. The end sections really are identical, other than the team tunnel. I also realized that I accidentally ignored the club and courtside seating in the previous count, shorting the number by 144. Feel free to check my work. So I counted exactly 5,963 seats in the SCSC. They could be rounding up 37 seats to 6K, or counting additional staff, media or standing-room only tickets in the number. Either way, I'd say that is pretty darn close to 6K. Nothing like the gross misrepresentation we have seen in Dome numbers. I think it's safe to say we can trust the attendance numbers at the SCSC, and that they count sold tickets rather than gate. (like most universities do). Case closed.
