The Lady Yotes need to play great basketball again tonight, keep their string going and not take a surging WIU team lightly even though they beat them handily at their place. This Western team appears to be back on track scoring a ton of points in the last few games. Hopefully a TON of fans show up tonight to support the Coyotes!! GO YOTES!!!!

kiyoat always does a great job finding this info, but any idea what the KenPom's of the world predict?
With kids activities tonight, I'm hoping to catch the 2nd half on Coyote Vision. But I hope I'm in the minority and there is a good crowd tonight.

Western Illinois by far put up the best performance by an opposing women's team that I have seen yet at the Sanford Coyote Sports Center. They shot lights out. I really feel good about the rematch as long as the defense comes to play which I certainly think will. WIU will take some bad shots and against the Coyote D that could be happening again tonight. I am not able to be at the game but for those who are this team deserves a huge standing ovation when they take the court tonight. I would have to say that the 8-0 start in league play is probably the best 8 game stretch by any Coyote Women's Summit team yet. That included both by the magnitude of wins and by the margin of victory as well. I think in almost every game the Coyotes exceeded what they did last year in those games except for maybe the home game against Omaha. I am looking forward to the game tonight as I am the men.

WIU is certainly capable of pulling off the upset tonight but the Coyotes have a perfect team to slow them down. I see a hot shooting Coyote team tonight. I think they will get out to a big lead early and cruise to the win. 84-67 Coyotes is my pick but the game may be a wider margin well before the final horn. I just think tonight is a feel good night and good night to be a Yote.

29-14 Coyotes early in the 2nd quarter. Biggest difference in the game is that WIU takes some bad shots from three. The Coyotes threes are being setup as good looks. If WIU doesn't have more discipline in their game they may never reach their potential.

Another difference is the crispness of the Yotes’ passing. They mix it up - some bounce passes, some overhead passes. It is very fun to watch because from one play to the next you don’t know what they’re going to do, Who they are going to pass to. They are all so unselfish with the ball. True teammates.

62-53 end 3rd Q.
The Leathernecks have cut the lead down to 9. It was in the teens for most of the 3rd quarter, and was as high as 21. AA on the bench in foul trouble.

78-70 with 4:30 left. The Coyotes lead was down to 3 at one point, now momentum starting to swing back. The crowd is a factor, IMO.

Thank goodness it was kid's night, or the student section would be completely empty. (other than the band)

The thing I noticed the most about tonight was the teams and how they value their possessions. The Coyotes simply take better shots. Towards the end they were very patient in getting good opportunities at the basket. Arens is a big part of that as she is able to dribble and than back out if there is not a lane to drive. Nice work by her and the whole team at the end.
If I am Western Illinois, what the heck. They act like the ball is a hot potato. I have never seen a team catch and shoot as quick as they do and more often than not they are not even squared up, or at least not long enough to line up their shot. If I remember right they did this same thing last year but got away with it. Maybe they are taught to do that. Maybe they think it is volleyball. I will always says whether it's the Coyotes or the opponent if you dig yourself a hole such as down 20 with well under 15:00 to go you deserve to lose regardless of how much of a run you make at the end. WIU got within 3 but most teams run out of gas after having to make such a hectic run. The Coyotes were a little lacking on D in the second half but when it counted down the stretch they were able to just basically guard and wait for the Necks to throw up a hail mary.
The talent is pretty even but the basketball IQ is significantly in favor of the Coyotes. The Coyotes also had some wide open looks because of a lack of discipline by the Western defense. It would have been nice to not allow the come back but who is going to complain about 9-0 in the Summit.
