The Yotes will be facing 7th seed UNO at 8:30 on Saturday. Still waiting on the last two games to play out to see who our potential semifinal opponents are.

The 3/6 game appears to be Denver/ORU. NDSU and IPFW were the two potential teams that I was hoping to avoid, so I'm liking how this turned out.

Denver just slaughtered Western Illinois 89-52. I think the people that are happy to avoid Fort Wayne might be wanting to avoid the wrong team.
If I had to create a list of teams I would want the Coyotes to play at the tourney it would be as follows.
1) Omaha 2) Western Illinois 3) Oral Roberts 4) Fort Wayne - and some may think this is crazy but no D = no tourney title 5) NDSU 6) Denver 7) SDSU

I think it’s 40/40 for SDSU and USD and the other teams are the other 20%.

I like how the 3 seed is picked as 5th most likely to win the title. This tournament really is one, two, and the also-rans.

I took the conference regular season off this year, but March Madness is upon us and I felt the need to scratch an itch for the Summit League conference tournament starting this coming weekend. Some of you have played this pick'em game before. If you have not, nothing too difficult about it. It costs you absolutely nothing to play except a bit of your time to register and fill out the pick form. $100, $50, and $25 e-gift certificate rewards go to the top 3 finishers and you get to choose your own reward restaurant, watering hole, retail establishment or even a favorite charity. Click the link below to register and get started. I will be in Sioux Falls way up in Section 218 Row G. Good luck this year! www.leathernecknation.net/forum/app.php/summit-pick-em

I read that same headline on the ESPN front page last night and my heart skipped a beat or 10.

Hurst Update: On the Coyote Report, Smith addressed a question about Carlton’s status, and said “we’ll see, there’s a chance he could play… there’s a chance obviously he couldn’t play, so we’ll see how it goes… we hoped to have him back three weeks ago… we’ll see what happens this week.”
Obviously, Smith is not going to give details for opponents to prepare for, but if he is ready to go, I’m interested in how he will be utilized. This is not a time of the year to start experimenting with lineups, and I am mostly worried about chemistry after missing nearly half the season now. If ready to go, I don’t think he’ll start and will only be used as added depth at this point or to stop a shooter who is getting hot. However, it may be an easier transition for him due his limited role offensively.

Hurst shouldn’t start if he is ready to play. TP has become too important and Hurst better coming off bench in small spurts sunce he won’t be in game shape.
