The Lady Yotes host Houston Thursday. The Cougars' schedule included two loses to Tulsa a team the Coyotes are familiar with. They have 4 seniors and not a lot of height except one 6'3" player. They are a good team and the Yotes will have to play great D and crank up the offense. GO YOTES!!!

Based on stats, I'd guess we are in for an entertaining game. They have a turnover-forcing defense, like us, but don't take care of the ball particularly well. They foul a lot, and draw fouls a lot. This could point to the style of play that is typical in their conference. Just a guess.
Their size likely doesn't help with rebounding, but sometimes rebounding is about technique and "want-to". I'll guess we own the glass in this game.
Despite the turnovers, their defense gives up a lot of points and allows a high shooting efficiency. They don't allow many 3-pointers, though. I'm going to guess in this case that their defense sells out on outside ball pressure, without effectively closing off lanes to the basket? I'm no expert on basketball, but this would make sense to me.
I think in this game our high shooting efficiency carries the day. We have shown an ability to modulate our offense to the opponent, and I'm guessing we see a lot of pass-penetration and dribble-penetration, and scoring in the paint/post today.

I really hope the women come out with some fire tonight. They are so fun to watch when they are hitting on all cylinders. For whatever reason, that was not the case in the Summit League Championship. This is a great opportunity to redeem themselves. The run to the NIT Championship a couple of years ago was a lot of fun to take part in.

Unfortunately it appears to be a small crowd tonight. Defense doesn't need a good crowd to be effective but it certainly wouldn't hurt. I am confident in this Coyote team regardless of where they play. Based on the player intros I would say the Coyotes are happy to be here. Plenty of smiles.

31-24 at half. I was impressed with both teams. The Cougars are athletic and just don't stop coming. For most of the way the Yotes D has been smoothering. The O was hot from outside but cooled as the half went on. The crowd filled in a bit and the people that are there are cheering pretty hard. Motivation is definitely not a problem tonight.

Other controversial thoughts: - Duffy might be our best PG - We might be better (only offensively) without Allison on the court because she's holds it for so long - Lamb might be our best offensive driver
Great end to the third quarter though, hopefully we can keep up the good work!!
