We are home again - Yes 1PM on Sunday I would like it to be Ryun Williams and the Rams heading east. Western Illinois is winning by 8 early in the second half. If that is the case the Coyotes should be a significant favorite in this one. Here is the link if anyone wants to watch the end of their game live. csurams.com/sports/2017/7/28/mountain-west-network.aspx?master=watch

The Rams have a wierd psychedelic pattern on their court that no one should have to be forced to play on. They have fewer fans at their game than the Coyotes did tonight. On a neutral court I think both the Coyotes and the Cougars beat both of these teams based on the eye test.
5:20 to go in the game and Colorado State has just taken a 1 point lead.

Colorado State takes the lead with less than 40 seconds to go. They blocked Clemens towards the end but missed on the game clinching free throws. WIU had one more chance at the buzzer but it appeared the tying three was tipped as it air balled. 69-66 was the final. Welcome home CSU coaches.

This is from the Lobo Lair (New Mexico) board, describing a CSU game near the end of the season....
“The difference between how CSU attacked the FSU zone yesterday and the last time they played in Ft. Collins was night and day. This time they owned the lane with players darting in and out and then passing high to low post cutters. That opened up the outside for the three-point shooters.”
CSU runs hot and cold, but when they are on, they are really on. Our girls need to be prepared for their quickness and sharp shooting. The Yotes will need to play very good defense!

If the Coyotes play like they did against Houston I feel confident in a double digit win. WIU was the quicker of the two teams. Houston appeared more athletic by far than CSU did. The Rams have a decent amount of size but nothing that will be a huge problem. I give the Yotes a 80% chance of a win and I will go 74-56 red and white.

Massey predicts a 63-51 win for the Coyotes, with an 86% chance of winning.
If the game was in Ft. Collins: 61-55 Coyote win with a 67% chance of winning.
I prefer the game in Vermillion! I can't make it due to a Gymnastics state tourney (my daughter, not me) and her birthday party. I hope the weather and icy roads are not a factor. Sunday afternoon is perfect for a good turnout. I'm guessing there are enough Coyote fans that were around in the Ryun Williams years that will love this match-up, and show up.
Go Yotes!

I've been wanting to see this one for a long time because of the unusual amount of USD-Colorado State connections. Disappointed I can't make it. I hope Williams, Cunningham (Hegge), and Lavin like what we've done with the place.

30-12 Coyotes in the 2nd quarter. Maybe Ryun Williams is wishing he never left. Just because CSU is in a more highly regarded conference doesn't mean they are the better program.

40-22 Coyotes at half time. If there is one theme over the past 3 years in the WNIT it is that the Coyotes will hand a big time beat down to a program that wears green as their primary color. Oregon, North Dakota and now Colorado State. Now of course this one is not over yet but the Coyotes are playing tremendous basketball in all aspects. I would have to say the green streak could be in jeopardy if Michigan State wins their second round game.

Very proud of our Yotes today. CSU made a big run against us in the third but we fought back well!
Also, Duffy with a great game. 19 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists. Bradley also shot well from 3 with 15 points.

What a performance today by the Coyotes. CSU did not give up and got within 5 or 6 but it was all Coyotes after that. We are home again on Thursday night.

I want to thank Dave Herbster and the admin for putting a high value on our Women's Basketball program in making these bids competitive enough to out due a program such as Michigan State. That is awesome and it is time to gas up the car for Thursday Night.

Well done Lady Yotes!! Start to finish, they never let up on the gas. When CSU made a run in the third, they adjusted both the offensive and the defense and took off again. That was fun to watch! ❤️⛹️♀️🏀⛹️♀️❤️

Random memory about Ryun:
I had Intro to Coaching during undergrad and Ryun was the women's coach at the time. Gottleben asked him if he would like to switch to coaching the men's side in the future, Ryun said "No way. Women are much more coachable; men have high egos and think they know everything."
