Too bad Mooney didn't stick around to play Air Force. UMBC will be interesting. Not sure how many transfers they had from their upset special team.

Not official, but per a post on the Bunny Board, the Yotes host SDSU on Saturday, 1/5/19 and play in Brookings on Saturday, 2/23/19. You should never play your in-state rival at home during Christmas break.

If this is true I am officially on the "let's find a new conference" train

All I am saying is..this same thing happened to NDSU last year...Obviously our AD's are not that bent out of shape about it, although they should be...

May have plead case and gotten Saturday games as best they could do.

While 1/5 would not be ideal for the State game, it is not the worst case scenario. Classes will resume the 7th so I'd be willing to bet there's a fair majority of students back in Vermillion.

May have plead case and gotten Saturday games as best they could do. Likely. We will just have to make up for the students being gone and make sure the rest of us show up! (unless you have family or vacation plans). Another way to deal with it would be to aggressively market it to the students that don't go home for the break. Figure out what will get them there and do it. I think the Athletic Department has done a good job with the promos in the past. Just keep trying new things, and repeat what works. I thought the free walking taco bar was a winner IMO. Lots of students seemed to participate.

By the end of Christmas break I couldn't wait to get away from home and back to campus. Perfect excuse to come back early and party.
USD should be pro-active and open the dorms early to accommodate students coming back early.

They have precisely one rivalry to schedule around. Shouldn't be this difficult.

You should never play your in-state rival at home during Christmas break. I’m not saying that you’re wrong, or that’s what you read, but typically the schedule reverses itself every year. This year our first game against SDSU was in Vermillion and the second game was in Brookings. Typical conference scheduling would put the first matchup in Brookings followed by the second game in Vermillion. That’s how every league I know schedules conference games. And you may be 100% right, but that would go against the norm.

Do we have any home non-conference games confirmed yet?
I got the call to renew my season tickets. I thought I got a horrible deal on them last year, hard to justify renewing without any assurance of a better schedule.
