I feel like football hasn't really started yet and basketball is already underway. Anyone who disagrees that Fall is the best season is wrong.

Drake, Wichita State, Montana, Iowa State, Green Bay, Missouri State, Missouri, Loyola Marymount, and Indiana. That's our remaining non-conference, excluding Grambling and the non-D1s. This team could win each of them but I dare you to pick out any guarantees.

Iâd be shocked to lose to Wichita, LMU or Missouri State, even with the aforementioned upset and near-upset. I take your point, though. Tough schedule. Should help the RPI either way.

This team could win each of them but I dare you to pick out any guarantees. Also, It honestly doesn't hurt to lose to a handful of those teams. Under the RPI Your overall W/L record is only 25% of the formula. And despite some saying otherwise, it doesn't reward wins over highly-ranked teams any higher than wins over Grambling State or Fort Wayne. Road wins and neutral site wins are a little more weighted, but the big thing is simply scheduling tough. 75% of the RPI formula is strength of schedule + strength of opponent's schedule. So we already have a built-in RPI boost before any of the games are played. Scheduling power conference teams nets an even bigger boost, because of their built-in schedule strength. It's a game of RPI-manipulation that teams like SDSU and Green Bay have mastered. Even if SDSU doesn't pull any upsets out of their gauntlet OOC schedule, they have already won the RPI game. (for the record, I think they will pull an upset or three, and so will we)
