I appreciate the analysis, just too often you get on a roll with the UND bashing.

Pluto is unstable today but a hapless Montana was down 21-0 in the first quarter when it dropoed out on me.
I was talking about teams giving up. I think Montana is done for the year.

Here is how UND stacks up against The Valley this week: Und 5-4. They outscore the Valley 276-206. Not a playoff team yet, the Hawks would sure run with the pack in the MVFC. They might be playoff bound too. Their remaining schedule is very favorable for them. The playoffs probably wouldn't be in the picture for this weeks team in The Valley. This weeks UND team goes 5-4. All of the games are now close except for the top 3 Valley teams. INS is a 10 point favorite too. Last week their team was 3-4-2 in the Valley. They are getting stronger vs. the Valley teams. They statistically look just like a middle MVFC team. ; The big weakness has been the points against. They now allow .78 points for every point they score. They are in close games but this stat has been improving and is starting to look good for them. This is another reason I think they will finish strong. The best in the Valley are .31, .32 and .41. These teams tend to blow out opponents by scoring well themselves and holding their opponents to little or nothing. This statistic is a great place to look if you are trying to decide the winner in what others think may be a close game. UND vs: | W/L | SCORE |

Here is how UND stacks up against The Valley this week: All Valley stats are conference play only. I got SIU in this week. Und 7-3. They outscored the Valley 300-239. This week they would make the playoffs for the first time this year. Dominating performance against Sac State is sure to vault UND possibly into the top 10 in the country. They will, if they are able to win out get a playoff birth. They are dreaming of the game in Fargo. They are projected to win against Weber bringing them one step closer. UND vs: | W/L | SCORE |

I dont look at the polls much and for some reason thought UND was ranked? They werent listed on AGS top 25 results so top 10 is wildly optimistic. Top 25 maybe?

Yes it does. They have done pretty well playing mostly sub 500 teams and a highly over ranked SHSU. Yet they continue to win behind strong running abilities of 2 seniors. It’s a decent run. The game Saturday should be a good one. Common opponent with USD too which should allow for a very good direct comparison. Non scholarship for the Summit is still a good idea. Maybe UND isn’t a future prospect I don’t know. It depends on how much they save after being forced to cancel the crown jewel of magnanimity and escaped the travel cost dungeon of the Big Sky. They are still a non scholly prospect looking at the school size and budget. Schools like UND are in D2 with D1 hockey. UND and USD are teams seemingly headed in different directions. Some Summit teams may go non scholarship. The question is who joins Augie if it goes that way. Non scholarship doesn’t mean you are a bad team. They are competitive with everyone else. They just don’t support athletic scholarships. As far as I know those players are being supported through academic scholarships and grants though. That’s the way non scholarship become elite like the Ivy League. It’s just the sort of airs UND would like to put on so I figured it was a lock for them to save face. We will see. in the meanrime we have UND rising as they work toward their dream super bowl: a playoff game at the Fabulous Fargo Dome. What an honor for those kids if they make it to Fargo. A real thrill for them to play on the big stage.

Still no respect for non-scholarship football? This thread is clearly titled UND vs the Valley. UND is not being diminished by being compared to other schools of the same size with D1 hockey. They are all D2 or D3 in other sports. They have a unique model and that's what makes them interesting. They are trying to support D1 hockey and a full slate of D1 sports. It has caused pain and had mixed results as you saw from the quotes of the UND fans on their board. One thing I didn't consider while assessing the impact of their financial problems was the positive affect of canceling womens hockey and getting out of the travel dungeon of the big sky. The ralph soaks up half their ticket revenues so not having those expenses is going to help. They may get by yet. Womens hockey savings are already adding up and the travel savings will start next year. I believe they open the season in the Fabulous Fargo Dome and will never travel to california. Non-scholarship football doesn't mean your players dont have scholarships, it means they don't have athletic scholarships. They still receive all other sorts of aid and grants outside the athletic budget, not associated with their athletic abilities. Participating schools take a tremendous amount of pride in non scholarship status. They in fact are on a pedestal. If you don't think it will be their super bowl if they get a playoff game in Fargo you don't understand how they think. You have to see them through your SDSU eyes to get it. At any rate they have the big game Saturday, its an active betting game with the odds changing daily. Today Weber gained some favor and they closed to within 4. There is talk of injury up there again with a star running back and star CB wearing boots on a foot. This could be meaninful or just a way to help prepare the injured foot for the game. They haven't been listed as injured. without Santiago it will be a lot tougher go.

I gave no opinion on UND sports period. I understand the thread is what it is but I don’t think the active posters on here care. Period. I respect all your analogies and takes on games in the Valley but I really don’t want to talk about The Sioux. ( always will be the Sioux to me )
Yotebewithyou simply said the UND crap is getting old and I agree. No disrespect whatsoever to you

Being a fan of the MVFC this seemed like a good place to keep tabs on the Dakota schools. UND is one of the Dakota 4 I’m handicapping. I poke them with a stick a bit because they talk badly of the Summit, MVFC and FCS football at least until they needed them and won a couple games in a row. The only school I’m not writing about is NDSU. No story there. Unless they stumble they are running out to become undefeated national champion. Here’s a good article on the UND/Weber game. I agree it is a show me game for UND they have looked shakey and fortunate but are getting better From first hand experience we know how good Weber can be. It could be a good game all it takes for a good game is 2 competitively matched teams. That’s the story Saturday in grand forks. herosports.com/fcs/football-north-dakota-weber-important-game-bzbz

Discussing UND is fine. Constantly bashing them is obnoxious and annoying. They live in your head rent-free and you aren't remotely fair to them. A quick search of your post history for "und" gives me a result of 163 unique posts. Some results are false positives, but most aren't, and it makes up 32% of your entire posting history.
UND and USD both have 1 playoff appearance. Both lost in the second round. The success at D1 likely favors UND, they've likely got better attendance, and they've got a way better chance at the playoffs than USD this year. But you keep talking about how they should drop scholarship football while acting like USD is in a whole different class.

I don't know what the series record is when UND and NDSU match up in football. It wouldn't surprise me if UND was ahead. I do know that down the road, when NDSU plays at UND they will have their hands full.
I say it's about time that we have that matchup, but in all honesty, I hardly ever think of UND or NDSU unless we're playing them.
Anyway, keep plugging away al, I don't mind you really. You're a known commodity and that's fine.
