😂😂 It sure does seem like she’s been there forever, doesn’t it? But no, just a redshirt year for her. Luckily for us Yote fans, next year we will have her little sister, Macy. She actually is a 4th year senior with no redshirt. Miller redshirted due to injury, but Maddy G. has been a starter all 4 years. Interesting that her sister chose you guys. Guess she maybe wants to pave her own way. Just hope she isn’t the shooter her big sister is! 😉

How much do we think we'll be hurt by the fact that the conference seems to be down (a lot) except for us and SDSU. More people on this board know about RPI. Will that hurt us? Or is that just who they play not who they beat?

How much do we think we'll be hurt by the fact that the conference seems to be down (a lot) except for us and SDSU. More people on this board know about RPI. Will that hurt us? Or is that just who they play not who they beat? I guess I wouldn't say that the conference definitely will be down, but based on all the graduations and transfers, that seems to be true to me. I hope I'm wrong. Plus, the Yotes and Jacks show no indication of a downturn. The Jacks' insane non-conference schedule should give everyone that plays them (i.e. the whole conference) a boost. The Yotes also seem to have a tougher slate than last year. The Jacks' strategy might backfire with too many losses, though. I think when it comes to conference play, it's kind-of a wash. There will be the same number of wins and losses within the conference every year. The real determiner of conference RPI is the non-conference schedule. Did the teams schedule tough? And what is their non-conference W-L record? That will determine the overall conference RPI limits, If I understand it correctly. The non-conference schedules are already made, so the strength is set. We just need our conference-mates to win as many of those games as possible, and we need their opponents to win games, too. Comparing the conference teams' RPI after the non-con is over will basically tell us most of the story. If we have multiple teams in the 300's, we will have a lower RPI-ceiling overall. Really the most important thing is to schedule tough (and win lots of games). The bottom Summit teams aren't typically very good most years anyway. Short answer: I think we will be fine. The Jacks are really the only ones that need to worry about RPI, since we will beat them in the SLT this year.

Thanks, kiyoat. That was a very helpful reply. And it makes sense to me as well. I just hope this is the year we get them in the SLT. I'm starting to care less and less about those regular season matchups after seeing us win both and still lose in the SLT. Maybe it would be good to lose one or both this year so we don't feel as much pressure.

I agree. A.J. happens to be a great tournament coach, and up until now he has usually had a talent advantage, as well as the crowd. I think we are finally catching up in overall talent, and are battling with the Jacks for recruits as well:
- The Jacks absolutely wanted Ciara, but we got her. (2016) - Riley C-J (2016) decommitted from us, and eventually ended up with the Jacks. - We had the inside track with Myah Selland (2017) until Coach Williams left (that one stings, she is good). - We got Maddie's sis Macy Geubert. (2019) - Both schools were after three in-state 2020 recruits. Madysen Vlastuin from Lennox chose the Jacks. Morgan Hansen SF Lincoln chose the Yotes. Emma Ronseik SF O'Gorman remains undecided, and holds multiple D-1 offers. (They have all played together on club teams)
We are winning those battles a lot more than in the past. Keep Dawn, and it will only get better as she gets established with the local/regional schools and clubs.
