I'll be interested to hear about this game from whoever is able to make it. Very curious about how some of our new players look.

Wow basketball snuck up on me, did not realize they were having an exhibition already. Wish there was a live feed to watch.

Yikes not the best 1st half for the new era. Dwu lost 2 of their major contributors and a 3rd starter got kicked off team. Need to finish this game strong.

It's an exhibition. Winning isn't our top priority while the other team dreams of a victory. These games have a way of being closer than they should be.
Can't help but notice Harvey did not play. Jech and Hagedoorn aren't playing for a while (if at all this year?). True freshman Matt Johns was the only guy we played over 6'6", he measures in at 6'8".

Who saw the game? What were some takeaways? Just looking at a boxscore I'm surprised Armstrong only played 10 minutes and got one shot. Kelly must look for his shot more than I thought he did. Did any new guy impress?

TBM and Triston Simpson played pretty decent. TBM had a very good 2nd half. Kelley isn’t bashful about shooting. As a team we didn’t shoot very well. Robinson and Johns have a ways to go.
We play very much up tempo but different than last year. Not sure why it’s different, I’ll leave that to the round ball guys. They seem to play pretty well together. Good 2nd half and I guess I’d summarize by saying I’ve certainly seen worse but have quite aways to go. I will say they look like they’re having fun.

Random thoughts: I thought defensively intensity and execution were very good. Might give up some easy buckets this season, but it seems like ball pressure will really be emphasized. For the most part I was impressed by the defense even given the level of the competition. Other than being cold from the field I liked Kelly's game. Label of true point guard fits here. He was a good add. I was also surprised not to see Harvey in action. Must be some reason. Really like the long term potential of Robinson and Johns. Johns can guard both perimeter and post. He was really affecting some outside shots which DWU wasn't shy about tossing up and seemed perfectly capable of sticking with smaller, quicker players. Robinson will be a big scorer before he graduates. Both are green but should just get better and better and the season progresses. TBM is just plain good. He just plays so hard. Offensively they attacked the basket hard, passed well but shots weren't falling. Don't think that's any big concern unless it starts to become a trend. If they're going in it's a blowout, but who really cares in the first action of the season. On a veteran team maybe, but not on one this new utilizing an entirely different system. It would be nice to have Hagedorn and Jech, but I guess we'll have to wait and see how that goes. Overall, we lost some excellent players, but I think that this might be the type of team that improves steadily as the year goes on. First seasons can usually see some growing pains, but I think a good foundation is being established both for the present and the future.

Sounds like Lee is a matchup guy and didn't play Harvey because DWU is a smaller, quicker team who jacks up a lot of three's and that is not Harvey's game. I think we'll see several different lineups this year depending on the style of the opposition.
