Wednesday @ 7PM SCSC
Denver 7-19 (2-10) vs. South Dakota 10-15 (4-8)
This probably represents the best opportunity for the Yotes to pick up another win, clinch a spot in the SLT, keep positive momentum going to finish the season, etc. For the Pios a loss here makes it very difficult to escape the conference basement, and missing the SLT.
Massey has us winning:
75-67
I don't know how we match up against Denver, but the last time we played them, TBM and Simpson combined for 38 points, and the team shot 12-23 52% from the arc. Even with that, we only beat them by one point. No game is a slam dunk on the men's side, so we will need a great SCSC atmosphere.

Win this game and we clinch a spot in SLT. Would give us 5 wins and Denver would be 2-11 with 3 games left. Doesn’t look like we can catch 5th place ORU due to being swept by them. So we can be seeded no better than 6. With our short bench, 7 or 8 may actually be better.

Are you thinking 7 or 8 is better so that if we upset a #1 or #2 on the first day, that leaves a slightly weaker team to play on day 2? Then we get a day's rest before game 3? I can get with that logic. Makes sense.

I know they're tough, but I wouldn't mind seeing Omaha the first round. Played them basically even twice and kind of feel like we owe them, especially after the last one. Third time and all...

A 7 seed might be my preferred choice here, since I don't think there's much difference between playing the 2 and 3. Then there's the day off if you pull off the win.
I'll take whatever hand we are dealt though.

I don't think there is a team in the SLT that the Yotes are not capable of beating. Looking back on the Summit season, I think there is really only one game where the Yotes played great the entire game and that was the PFW game at the SCSC. Outside of that, even in the wins, there were several minutes of just not very good basketball. If the Yotes can put together 40 minutes they are capable of beating anyone IMO.

I disagree that the Yotes even played a full game against Fort Wayne at home. I remember thinking that one was a loss the way things got away from us in the 1st half (went from up 9 to down 10 pretty quickly). If we can get that full game then anyone in the conference is in danger.

It certainly applies to the 'Yotes, but a person could say that about most any team in the league. The way teams in the Summit emphasize the three point shot, a hot night from any team could knock out just about anyone. Isn't this the top three point shooting conference in the nation?

Sounds right, at least in terms of 3-Pt % shooting. All the Summit schools but us are top-100 in that stat, and 5 are top-50.

So I found the conference comparison stats: stats.ncaa.org/rankings/conference_trendsThe Summit League is:#1 in FG% (46.41%) #1 in 3PT% (37.61%) #2 in FT% (73.1%) #6 in PPG (75.0) #2 in (fewest) total Turnovers #2 in (fewest) total fouls on the other hand, the Summit is:2nd worst in FT Attempts 5th worst in FG Attempts 2nd worst in O-rebounds 3rd worst in total blocks 3rd worst in total steals The NCAA's matrix doesn't include the major defense stats, but I assume the Summit would be ranked low in most of those.

Yotes lead 36-22 at half. I haven't watched too closely but I like that score.

Umude's midrange game is what sets him apart IMO. He has a great step back jumper that is un-guardable.

Denver Forward: ABIOLA AKINTOLA, best name in the Summit?
