I know coach P said the team needs to take shots when they are open, but Lamb is a little itchy with the trigger. STOP taking bad shots.

Yotes up35-31 at half.
Too many turnovers. Without them we would be dominating this one. Gotta adjust.

Geez...defensively they're throwing everything, including the kitchen sink, at us. Handling it fairly well so far, but I wish the tempo would slow down some. Playing the game too much at a pace that suits them better. I think our shooters are way better so if we can control tempo more, we should be OK.

Clemson is making me look ridiculous. They're the team that supposedly can't and doesn't even really shoot many threes and they're just lighting it up from outside the arc. Meanwhile, we're 1 of our last 15 from three. The difference in athleticism is apparent too.

What's the record for missed threes in a game? It feels like we are chasing it.

8-34 23.5% from 3pt, Duffy 1-7
I felt like Clemson was aggressive on D and got us flustered
USD out rebounded Clemson 41-24, assists 19-11. Lost the turnover battle 17-11

Not gonna win many games like that. Sjerven was great. The Arens sisters weren't bad. Everybody else was, well, pretty bad.

No one compensated for Duffy again. Lamb and Mckeever only with 6 a piece. Duffy’s conditioning had to be gone and her legs were certainly wobbly. The length and athleticism sped everything up on us and we rushed too much and it cost us dearly.

Probably stating the obvious, but it seemed like they overwhelmed us defensively in the second half. Have to give them credit, they were really, really good on that end of the floor. When their shots started falling in the middle of the third quarter it was pretty much all she wrote.

I think you're right. They got a bit timid. You can't retreat from great athletes or a zone (unless you're shooting it like the kid from Wofford) and there wasn't much in the way of attacking happening. Once Clemson sensed the hesitation it got ugly.
Not getting Sjerven any shots in the third quarter was also a bit of a head-scratcher.

With their quickness and the zone in the 2nd half we had to rush a lot of 3s and tough to get inside again with their quickness. We had 11 turnovers at half with 3 in a row unforced. If we kept it to half that and got a better lead maybe... Clemson was flustered in 1st Q or so and couldn't hit anything from outside then they shot the lights out from 3 in the 4th. They set a lot of screens--we tried to fight through and were late against their quickness so they got back in the game with their 8 to 10 ft shots then we closed that down some and they hit 3s. Give them credit especially on their D in 2nd half. PROUD of our team they certainly battled and worked extremely hard. GREAT SEASSON LADIES and the Yotes will RETURN!!!

I've been thinking about this, I wouldn't be too disheartened with this loss ,disappointed yes, but this is only your second time in the "Dance", so there's bound to be an experience factor when playing against these teams, that will come the more you play in the NCAA Tournament, not to mention Ciara's injury coming at the worst possible time.
The best way to experience this type of competition, short of actually playing in the field, is to try and schedule it for the OOC portion of the schedule with teams likely to be in the Tournament, it's good experience and it really helps a teams RPI. You had a great schedule this last season, hope you do as well scheduling for next season too.You guys, along with the Jacks, really helped the Conference (Exposure, recruiting?, etc), getting two teams in from the Conference is a big thing, so thanks for what you've accomplished this past season and helping the Summit become a two bid Conference for only the second time in their history.

I'm expecting an excellent non-con next year. Not only do you have to have the will to get those games, you have to have the reputation as a guaranteed high-RPI team. Basically what the Jacks have been for a decade. That's what those major programs want in non-con opponents. The Yotes have been a reliable high-RPI school for a handful of years, but had not cashed in schedule-wise until this year. I think Coach P has a good understanding of that, and we will see a real doozy of a schedule next year. Hopefully the toughest yet. I'd love to see some more non-Midwest teams on the docket. Coach mentioned that even as tough as our 2018-19 schedule was, we didn't see a single team like Clemson. Makes for some nice attendance draws, too. Assuming we don't align those home games with deadly ice storms.
