Any chance College Game Day comes to Fargo next Saturday? =) They are going to Ohio State. Montana/Montana State wanted it for their brawl, but not happening.

Think they’re going to Ohio State-Michigan State. They were supposed to go to Montana but backed out.

Think getting beat twice in a row is enough to get those arrogant douche bags to admit this is their rivalry game? Hell even the media makes a bigger deal out of them playing for a stupid rock. How about after we pull off a win so dramatic that people around the country saw it? Sportscenter covered the ending of the game extensively, and of course it was also the number 1 play in the top 10. The video of the final play on the USD Twitter account already has 740k views. I'm coming across national stories like this one from outlets that don't focus on FCS football calling this the "finish of the season". Then of course, any outlets that do cover FCS football have USD front and center this weekend. I don't care what their fans say, we all know which game both teams never want to lose, and I very much enjoy that everyone in the world got to see us beat them. It was also nice that it all happened with the West side as a backdrop, what a Top Level play in a Top Level facility!

If, in fact, the Jug is returned (as Stig has publicly stated recently)...... I think we need to follow the example of Arizona-Arizona State's "Territorial Cup". Basically they do pass the original back and forth, but it is kept protected due to the fragile antique nature of it. They made a replica for the teams to handle on the field the day of the victory. Original: replica ARTICLE LINK“When you watch those guys on the field, after the game, you saw what happened,” he said. “They’re kissing it, they’re holding it, they’re waving it around by the arms. This 1899 silver trophy can’t withstand that kind of handling.” Spindler undid the latch, donned a pair of cotton gloves, and pulled out a sack made specially to preserve silver plating. He pulled the Territorial Cup out of the bag, observed it, and set it on the table. A few minutes later, he removed the glass casing from the archive display at Hayden Library, adjusted the sign, and placed the cup into the middle, making sure it could be seen through the glass window leading to the hallway. “It’s always special when we win again and return the cup to its rightful home here at Arizona State University,” he said. “It’s a great honor to do this work on behalf of our fabulous Sun Devil football teams and our great university.”

How about a new trophy with a photo of the hail mary winning touchdown on the trophy. That way even if the Jacks have it they will have to be constantly reminded of it.

“We’re rekindling this (rivalry),” Stiegelmeier said. “I think it’s still as big, it’s still bragging rights in the state. It’s used in recruiting, we drug out the little brown jug, which is a traveling trophy which no one talks about. It’s a big game, it’s a rivalry game, a lot at stake for both of us.” Well I’ll be damned. Sounds like it might actually happen. On Yotecast Thayer asks Herbster about Stig's comments about returning the jug and Herbster said they have not seen it.

If the jug is returned we would hear about it right away...right? I can't imagine USD not sharing a picture of it back in Vermillion on social media.
Seems safe to assume Stig's got it full of joose until we hear otherwise.

Is the jug in a trophy case in Brookings somewhere? That's the kind of thing we would have just gone and taken back, but you probably end up in jail for that these days.
