Interesting first weekend full of upsets, buzzer beater, and unrealized expectations, I'm looking at you Big East. The highlight for me was last night Charles Barkley was crushing the Big East as overhyped. Good coaches, good systems, unathletic, "...and after Notre Dame gets crushed tonight there will only be 2 Big East teams to make the Sweet 16." Slick Rick Pitino then chimes in guaranteeing a Notre Dame win, not once, but twice.
It was entertaining television, more entertaining than the ND game as they proceeded to get crushed by FSU. Hey, I was rooting for ND and wanted to see a good game. What a thud to end the weekend on.
In case your wondering OSU wins it all.

Although I hate everything living fiber of what constitutes my pick, they were the most logical to win coming from nowhere. UCONN

I wish I could find Barkley ripping on the Big East online. He is right. The big East is an overhyped conference. 11 teams started and 9 eliminated including their 1 seed Pitt, 2 seed Notre Dame, and their 3 seed Syracuse.
The Big East was overrated last year and even worse this year. I'm sorry for the rant but it ticks me off that they get so many teams in the tournament.
The one benefit- I picked against the Big East in my bracket in every game except UConn and I'm winning my bracket because of it.

Don't worry, come next season the SEC will be annointed kings of college football (you know, all that SEC speed) and the talking heads at ESPN will annoint the Big East as the top basketball conference. Again.

For some reason UConn was the only Big East team I took to go a little ways - the Elite Eight against Duke - and I took Kentucky and Florida for the Final Four. Second worst conference gave me more faith than the Big East? I'm an idiot that is getting lucky. I have Duke and Kansas as my other two final four teams.

Yote 53,
Thanks! I hope they have Pitino on there again for the sweet 16 pregames so Barkley can ask about his Notre Dame guarentee.

Quote of the night from the NCAA sweet sixteen preview:
The Big East has 2 teams in the sweet sixteen. The city of Richmond, Virginia has two teams in the sweet sixteen (Richmond and VCU)

AHAHAHAHAHAHA that's great actually. Hey UConn, you barely beat a WAC school. Congrats.

Guess I was wrong on OSU. All that SEC speed was to much to handle. BTW Barkley was right at halftime, again

VCU wins in OT. I'm on the bandwagon and pulling for the little guy. Kansas will be a tall order. BTW, how lucky did Kansas get in this tourney. Their bracket has been full of upsets and they will most likely cruise to the Final Four.

My horse ( UCONN ) isn't quite as dark as it seemed when I picked them. Can they get by Arizona?

My brackets are in shambles.
But, I did hear a good story about how to pick teams. A guy I know has four little sons. The youngest (he's about 5 so he gets the "benefit" of his wise-guy older brothers) picked Butler to get to the Final Four. His reason? He told his dad: the team had "butt" in its name.
