...Random things that keep me up at night.....
Just a thought about how the NCAA and individual schools will handle stats and all-time records with student-athletes that were able to play five years rather than four? It seems to me that you would have to almost have two different tracks: Records using all data and records that exclude one year from a five-year player's stats.
So if that were to happen, which year would be excluded? this odd 2020-2021 season? The first year? The last year? Individualized to the player? (best combination of four years for that player in that stat?)
Once these individual career records start getting broken by 5-year athletes, I'm guessing that some of the 4-year record holders might get a little irritated. I would imagine that the choice of exclusion year might be controversial, as well. Each 5-year player might have very different "career" stats based on which year was excluded.
Thoughts?

More important things in life to dwell on. Be happy for the player. The joy is in the journey and achievement anyway and any legacy is secure.

Most logical to me, but would never be implemented across the board, would be for career statistics to omit the pandemic year if an athlete uses their bonus year. For example, if Chloe Lamb comes back then this season that just happened doesn't count in her stats. If she has played her last game as a Yote then you do count it.
The Roger Maris treatment would be easier. Give them an asterisk.
