Massey Ratings finally has all the available schedules uploaded (there are still a handful of schools that haven't released them). Here is Massey's prediction of each Summit team's W-L record: (LINK)Denver 17-1 Summit, 7-4 non-con USD ---16-2 Summit, 3-9 non-con KC-----14-4 Summit, 6-6 non-con Omaha--13-5 Summit, 0-11 non-con NDSU---10-8 Summit, 1-11 non-con ORU----7-11 Summit, 5-4 non-con SDSU---7-11 Summit, 5-7 non-con WIU----3-15 Summit, 1-11 non-con UST----0-18 Summit, 0-10 non-con I realize they are just going by last year's rankings in predicting the schedule, but I have to think that we will win more than just the three home matches in our non-conference season. We should have opportunities to knock off several teams we are underdogs to. I think if we end up 6-6 or better in the non-con, we should be in good shape to compete for a regular season Summit title. It won't be easy, though. This conference has legit teams and the chance for an at-large bid.

We are going to be very talented and experienced this season. I have a hard time imagining any of our losses will be in fewer than five sets. In fact, the top four teams in the conference deserve national respect. The shared Creighton and Missouri match-ups will be great barometers going into the conference season.

I agree with most of this, but I would be shocked if Louisville allows us to win a set. I'll throw out a guess of 7-5 for our non-con record. The opening day will have lots of big matches for the Summit: Friday, Aug 27 KC vs Creighton KC @ Missouri USD vs Northwestern USD @ Colorado State NDSU vs UNI NDSU @ Green Bay Omaha @ Iowa State Denver @ USC

I agree with most of this, but I would be shocked if Louisville allows us to win a set. You're probably right with Louisville, Georgia Tech two seasons ago is probably comparable, but I would love to catch them off guard!

Remember about a month ago or so we had some discussion as to why coaches schedule “soft” or “tougher” schedules? And I commented why in all likelihood SDSU had a terribly soft schedule. It’s because a coach generally knows his/her team extremely well and schedules around the physchi of the team.
This is why their schedule is soft. He knows what he has. Right now he’s praying he comes out of that schedule over .500. In all fairness, Augie historically has been a perennial top 25 D2 team so this isn’t that shocking. I think if our ladies played them and we didn’t bring our A game, we’d struggle. But not lose. And that’s why they have W’s and L’s recorded.

Yeah you gotta wonder what losing one of those soft games does to a teams psychi. Oof state volleyball is a trainwreck.

very close between the Yotes and Pios for 1st place picks. Surprised St Thomas is ranked 9th. I'm a little disappointed they are sticking with the two "players to watch" from each team rather than picking a preseason all-conference and POY. Oh well. Let's play ball!

Holy crap. Denver just beat USC 3-2, and Kansas City just beat Missouri 3-1! What a great start for the conference!
