Just for fun I went back the last 5 years ( not counting fall of 2021 ) and looked at conference records for the Coyotes, Jack’s, and Bison.
Sport. USD SDSU NDSU
FOOTBALL 14-18 24-8 30-2 Mens BB 50-27 57-16 49-29 Womens BB. 67-8 65-10. 27-47 Volleyball 65-13 16-62 44-34
Totals 196-66 162-96. 150-112
Percentage 74% 63% 57%
If we can get football going it’s only going to get better. The fact remains is overall our ticket sports do a great job. Nothing to infer from this. Just. Umbers…that’s all.

Well, I think you can indeed infer that NDSU has had a better than average run in football...

I think it’s safe to say though that the football program is about where it’s going to be. USD isn’t large enough, with enough money, to be both a football and basketball school. Just look at NDSU amazing football program, but other sports have under preformed. SDSU is in the middle but it’s clear they want the football program so how long until that affects the others? UND is a great example of it, except with hockey. Historically USD may have been a football school but In the D1 era we’ve become a basketball (or more simply a summit league) school because that’s where we’ve had success at.

I mean if anything, USD has become a WBB school. MBB has yet to make a tournament and the women consistently bring in more fans than the men's team. I would say the football program has had as much success as MBB. I think we are still a FB school, just have struggled to overcome some of the obstacles that come with being in the best conference in the country.

This. We are spending the money for all 3. We can have all 3. So can our peers.
