This game is an example of how the men's team is hurt by other good stories at SD right now. Southern admittedly is not a good draw but not many people seem to be in attendance for this one.

Pretty wild game, lots of bumping, grabbing, pushing, but I think Southern's strategy is to play total chaos basketball. Overall a descent effort against a very quick, aggressive and physical team. Only thing missing tonight, and so far every night, was the three point shooting. I would think that has to improve as it simply can't get much worse. It was the same thing at the beginning of last season too, but eventually it came around. The 'Yotes were very efficient around the basket though. Another big positive was the free throw shooting down the stretch in the second half. It managed to keep them at arms length in the final couple minutes. On a final note the Southern coach was a total whiney pinhead from the opening tip on. how he managed to dodge a t is beyond me. I'm pretty sure he flipped off the refs as they were walking of the floor.

Southern came in a little bit better than I thought they were or would be. They only lost to Louisville by 12 and beat Tulane. They did lose to Rice by 18. All of their games so far have been on the road.
I tried to watch this on Coyote Vision or whatever it is called now days but the video was choppy and stopped working about 3 times in 10 minutes so I gave up trying to watch. I have not had any connection issues either.

The Coyotes top 6 scorers totaled 66 pts for an average of 11 each with Fuller the most with 20 so pretty balanced scoring which what this team will needs. Southern was very quick and tough to defend on the dribble drive especially in the 2nd half but the Yote toughed it out! Keep grinding and will have better 3 pt shooting games too!!
