I couldn’t find a better preexisting thread for this, but wanted to share the news. I expect that everyone in the conference is going to be at risk of losing key players to the transfer portal each offseason, and it will be interesting to track.

This is a good idea for a thread. Maybe change the title to something about the transfer portal, like "MVFC transfers". It wouldn't have to be for just this season. Could just add to it continually.

He's already received multiple, multiple P5 offers.

I don't blame Schuster for transferring. Some of the stuff that was posted on the UND message board blaming him for anything and everything was unreal. Offense scored 35 points against Sac State and it was his fault they lost. If I remember correctly, he led them on game winning drives in the closing seconds in two of their last games as well. Tough crowd over there.

He's already received multiple, multiple P5 offers. Pretty crazy offers for a guy who was honorable mention all MVFC. Sure may lead to guys further up the accolades list wonder what kind of offers are out there for them. Seems the P5 using us as a developmental league moves on.

Tough crowd over there. I looked at their board for our game against them and it was brutal. I'm not sure if his accepted nickname is Noodles (seems demeaning to me), and sarcastic posts like "Oh yeah, I'm sure Noodles can lead us down the field" in the 4th quarter were prevalent. The people posting on that board clearly do not like him. Seems wild to me given that he holds all their records.

UND's kick return guy who ran one back against USD to open the game is also leaving. Looks like they could get hit hard.

I don't put much stock in the conference awards when you start getting into 1st team, 2nd team, and HM. It's political. I'm sure the kid can play, obviously, the offer sheet is long.

Supposedly some contributing Bison are hitting the portal tomorrow? Per Bisonville

Supposedly some contributing Bison are hitting the portal tomorrow? Per Bisonville There's no way. Unthinkable that a player would do that in the middle of a playoff run, especially if they are contributing. I'm here for it. But that would be mystifying.

I only dug into it because I was just reading the board about the upcoming game. I’m not very good at navigating other boards, so I’m not sure if it was part of an ongoing discussion or a new development. I find it crazy, too, but there were multiple comments by multiple accounts of transfers. Who knows.

I see those comments too. Hope they are correct. Must think that just because the transfer window opens on Monday that kids will be jumping in immediately? Anyone can enter until January 2 and be eligible to transfer.

I specifically reached out to a couple people at the Foundation in Athletic Development about an NIL collective over 6 months ago and was told there are other priorities. I can certainly understand and appreciate that, but we need the foundation's help with email lists, donors, etc. If we do not get serious about an NIL collective, we are going to be left in the dust. I get it...Howling Pack donations, scholarship donations, etc. may very well suffer because of this, but we need to get the ball rolling. I was told that if we want a young lady from Wagner to come and play ball for us, it would take $15-$20k/year to help close the deal. It sucks that is where we are at with college athletics, but it is what it is.
