Ok Coyote fans, give me some advice. My contract expires shortly and I want a phone that does alot of things. I read where Yote53 gets radio streams through the phone and can lsiten to Coyote games when mobile.
Do I buy an Andriod or I-Phone? That is the $64,000 question. I am NOT a technical guru so keep answers in basic English please. Thanks.

iPhone people swear by them but I personally prefer Android. Alot of your decision is based on where you live because what you can do with the phone depends upon the network in your area. If you are in SoDak I would suggest you get Verizon as they have the best coverage area. As for Verizon phones I would go with an Android because of the large amount of free apps in the Android market. If it were me, living in South Dakota, I would go with Verizon, Android, and the phone would be a 4g LTE smartphone. An HTC Thundrbolt will do everything you want and more for a reasonable price. With a new 2 yr contract and $100 free-up the out of pocket cost to you would be $50. If you want to go Cadillac get a Droid Bionic.
No, I am not a phone salesman I just got done doing the research on this. Talk to the phone rep and see what they have to say.

My son has the Iphone 3 and loves it. Says the Iphone 3 does most things the Iphone 4 does, but costs a lot less $$. Said Iphone would be best for his not so tech savy Dad, as easier to navigate than other smart phones. Said no need for 4G at this point, because 4G signal not available in most of SD. We are on AT&T.

4G is available in SF through Verizon and Rapid and Sioux City will also have it by the end of the year. 3G is available most everywhere else in SD.
I've also heard the iPhone 4 is not that much better than the 3.

I am personally looking at the iPhone right now for when my contract comes up, but that's because I use my iPod all of the time so I would be familiar with the iPhone. Honestly, I think both are good choices, but I have a friend that works in the Verizon in Lincoln and he says that will always go with the Droids over the iPhone. My boss has the HTC Thunderbolt and loves it and my other coworker has a Droid Incredible 2 and he likes it. I would say the Droids are just as good if not better than the iPhone and I would recommend the Droid.

I was out of town at a seminar this weekend and was not even able to listen to the Coyote game (from what I hear I did not miss much). I was able to follow the entire game (in silence) using ESPN Gametracker on my Droid. I guess I could have put in the earplugs but that would have looked bad. Imagine how frustrating it is trying to make the little first down marker move (offense) or stop when we are on defense. You could tell just from the stat tracker the team was not playing well.
Gotta love technology.

My contract is up in one month so I'm starting to look right now as well. I have a Droid and I love it, but I'm thinking about an Iphone. I'm under the impression that all smart phones are good now, especially the Android and Iphone market.

Yeah, the Droid and iPhones are both pretty good choices, actually. He just likes the extra bonuses that some of the Droids can do, since its basically like having a wireless router with you and he thinks it has more free, useful apps. The iPhone is pretty money, too, but it's all touch screen and there are Droids that aren't touch screens, so that might be a factor for other people too.

This thread got my interest up and I went into Verizon and talked to a salesman. He seemed pretty straight forward so I'll pass on what he said:
Both are great phones, but apparently the new Iphones don't have 4G like the Android phones do. For those who don't know, the 4G will give you a faster internet (in theory, but I'm not sure how big of a difference it is).
With Iphones you will have to pay more for your applications. Droids tend to have cheaper apps and more free ones. The reason for this is because anyone can add an application to the Android market. With the Iphones, it needs to be sent through a process to allow it to be downloaded. You'd think that it could cause issues with applications with the Droid, but I've never had any problems with bugs or anything of that sort with my applications.
Email will be good on both phones. Unless your phone is tied into your work, you shouldn't have any issues with either of them.
If you're with Verizon and you're up for a new 2-year agreement, you will get $30 off your new phone. However, since Apple sets the prices of the Iphones, you cannot get $30 off the price of the Iphone. Probably a small amount in the grand scheme of things, but it's still $30.
I may go with the Iphone just because of my Itunes and music; however, I think both phones are great and you'll probably be happy with either one.

It is now clear as mud to me. haha I think I-Phone wins. Wait, maybe a Droid? Oh to hell with it, gimme a bag phone.

Android. Trust me. Do it for the free app market. Apple will nickel & dime you to death. Functionally they both have touch screens and operate pretty much the same. I have an iPod too but use the Droid way more often.

For SD....Verizon, iPhone 4s.
You would have to pry my iPhone from my dead cold hand. My iPod, camera, and phone all in one device....and not just any camera....high resolution pictures and HD video. You won't need your old digital camera, SLR, or video camera ever again. Tons of free apps....I'm trying to think of an iPhone app that I have had to pay for? However, that really depends on what someone wants to use their phone for.
I've had the iPhone for a year now and I hope I never have to change to another phone other than the next iPhone release. I'm really looking forward to using, Siri, the new iPhone voice activated assistant.
Also....I integrate my iPhone at home with my iMac, iPad2, and Apple TV which streams anything from my devices to my HD TV. When integrated with other Apple products, the iPhone is even more powerful!
Qualifier: I have not used the Android!

I have owned both an android operating system phone and an Iphone.
For me the android OS comes down to what android phone you purchase. The android based phones are not all the same. The android OS has more apps but plenty of them are worthless. I think overall the Iphone apps available, even if you have to pay a little for some, are better. The android OS phones are notorouis for draining battery life (or mine was). I rooted my android (HTC thunderbolt) and if you are tech savvy the android OS allows you to do more with your phone. However, 99.99% of the general public does not take advantage of this ability.
I never owned an Apple product unitl I bought my iphone. I was hesitant to buy into their limited reprogramming platform. With that said, it is the the easiest platform to figure out ever. Very easy to navigate. Battery lasts forever and I couldn't be happier. The downside if battery busts you have to get it directly from Apple. I also integrated my audio and video streaming throughout my home. I use the Iphone as my controller. Good times.
Both great platforms but IMHO Iphone is the winner

I have an android charge and i like it a lot. you cant really go wrong with an iphone or a droid. make sure you go with verizon though, i have heard so many people complain about at&t since it has changed. the 4g is nice and is a little faster but you need to be in SF or RC to get it, but if you are traveliong most large cities have this. that is the major downfall of the iphone. the only thing i do not like about my phone is the battery is bad, iphone is much better in that area. as i stated they are both good, i went with droid because i already have a 120 gb ipod so i figured there wasnt a need there. good luck!
