THEE University of South Dakota WILL still be the first school from South Dakota to win a game in the NCAA Tournament.

I hardly think I will be the only one, as a matter of fact I know of several people that are cheering against them. The Argus Leader is probably having a prayer vidual as they are in mourning that their beloved Jacks have been defeated. Baylor played pretty much an uninspired game and still had no real chance of losing in the end. If SDSU would have played a motivated opponent it would have never been that close. I am definately a happy Coyote Fan tonight. Way to go Bears.

I wasn't cheering for SDSU. In fact, I also know many people that cheered against them. Typical Zjack, thinks SDSU owns the state.
I wonder what part of rivalry those Jacks don't understand?

If the jackies had not gotten off to a 'hot' start they would have lost by over 20. My predicition is that they will not win the conference next season. Everything had to fall in place for them to make the "Dance". Their fans had better enjoy this because from here on out it is all down hill. Without Wolters they are about a .300 team at best.

I could see them losing in the first round.

The Argus Leader is probably having a prayer vidual as they are in mourning that their beloved Jacks have been defeated. For what it's worth, based on their coverage, The Rapid City Journal doesn't seem to give a rat's backside about USD athletics either!

wrj, i don't know that I'd go that far. The RC Journal has done a good job for being on the opposite side of the state, consider: they had a reporter at the State-U game in Brookings.
Again, i always say, good for the Argus, but its not my first choice for USD news or stories or whatever

THEE University of South Dakota WILL still be the first school from South Dakota to win a game in the NCAA Tournament. You forgot: SDSU Jackrabbits 90, TCU Horned Frogs 55 March 22, 2009, Lubbock, TX, First Round NCAA Tournament. I suppose you'll respond by saying MEN'S TOURNEY -- but don't do that because that would be an insult to the tremendous women's team at USD which proved once again last night that it is already in the upper echelon in their sport, a year before full eligibility.

I was openly rooting against SDSU last night because once the brackets were announced there were too many arrogant SDSU fans on Twitter saying how Baylor did not present much problems for them and all SDSU had to do was shoot well.
While I know SDSU is a good team and the game was closer because I thought Baylor did not take SDSU seriously, many on Twitter thought they were going to win by Wolters alone and just the tweets were awful.
I am glad Baylor beat them, and I am also glad I have Duke beating Baylor because the Bears did not come to play last night for 2/3 of that game.

To be fair I believe that State was won 2 NCAA tournament games....women's soccer and women's basketballl. The race is on to see who wins the first MBB NCAA tourney game and football playoff game.

Since it is rather likely more of your undergrads were in their rooms watching the SDSU v Baylor game then at Dakota Dome watching USD's women in the NIT (1300 ), I would say on that night at least we did own the state.

By that token then the Yotes should own the state this coming Monday night against Colorado as both SDSU teams were "one and done".
