For those who don't know, the Coyotes are light years ahead of the rabbits in football playoff appearances. The Yotes have had 8 playoff games since the playoffs started in 1973, winning 4 and losing 4 and the Yotes advanced as far as the National Championship game against NDSU in 1986 before losing.
state by comparison has had 2 playoff appearances losing both by a combined score of 55-111!!
Keep adding to the legacy Coyotes!!!

You're lucky you did some renovations to your dome (A BSA that you can play football in), otherwise it would be even more embarrassing for us to play in Vermillion.

What is embarrassing about USD or Vermillion.

So when you lose to USD is that more embarrassing or is it ok because you were embarrassed to be there and couldn't play well.

bisonator,
I don't think it's real easy to respect someone that doesn't respect the opponents they play. By disrespecting USD you are disrespecting the conference that NDSU plays in. As a fan I want the Coyotes to win but I don't disrespect the opponent even if it was Midland Lutheran or someone similar that may be overmatched athletically. Your Athletic Director likely respected the idea of USD being in the MVFC so does that mean you disrespect your AD for him respecting playing USD again. Why not come in here and say that you are looking forward to the matchup rather than come in and immediately slam USD. Do you think that is going to get you anywhere with Coyote Fans?

USD is a good addition to the MV but I believe they will struggle the first few years in the league. Anytime a team can take a bus trip to a conference game, that is a good thing. I'm looking forward to watching the game in Vermillion this year. The Bison will be tough to beat this year. We have a ton of talent returning with a lot of guys getting significant playing time last year. Our junior class this coming year could be the best ever at NDSU. IMO, Glenn will do a good job at USD. He is a good coach that has been a winner. What is acceptable for USD fans in regards to record or making the playoffs? What would be an acceptable timetable for playoff participation? 1-2-3-4 years....or longer? The MV is a "meat-grinder" every year. This coming year YSU-UNI-NDSU are probably the favs to win the league title.

I think NDSU will be good, but I expect Illinois State to compete along with UNI for the title. Don't be shocked if we knock you off in the Dome. If you like Bloody Mary's you are welcome to stop by our tailgate and have a couple.

To answer the question, year 2 or 3. I'm giving the new coach the first year pass this season, couple that with now being in the MVFC and losing a lot to graduation and I only ask we are competitive. I'm thinking of a record at or near .500 is acceptable. Year 2, I think we still have holes to fill and I want the coach to have an opportunity to get "his players" in place with a little maturity. By year 3 I expect us to be contenders for the conference.
