Looking forward to another trip to Vermillion always a good times. I would like to get a tailgate spot for the game. Does USD sell single game tailgate spots?

Yes. You can buy single game spots in the south lot the day of the game. First come , first serve.

Great thanks for the tip Yote 53, yackl - SF or Vermillion is fine with me. My Yote friends are from RC and SF so either one is fine. I think they like getting back to Vermillion for Carey's run from time to time.

Word on the UND message board is that UND declined to sign the contract for 9/21/2013 vs USD @ Sioux Falls.

Sounds about right. They will have too much prep for hockey going on to worry about a good football game for them.

UND is going there own way and not looking back. That is their deal but I feel bad for the UND fans who will miss out on nearby games to travel to.

UND seems to be oblivious to the concept of having reasonable relationships with regional teams. There will be a day when UND begs for a game with USD and USD may just be too busy. The changes now being made in hockey conference affiliation, the nickname/logo dispute which, for some has not and should not go away, are reasons to be wary of that bunch.
I think USD (or SDSU) is better off keeping some distance from the disfunctional institution in Grand Forks.

To be fair, the hockey conference affiliation thing was forced upon them by the Big Ten schools jumping from the WCHA to the Big 10 Hockey Conference. I don't blame UND, Denver, Colorado College, etc. for banding together to join the NHC (National Hockey Conference). To stay in the depleted WCHA would be a step down and is akin to USD saying it would be acceptable to go from the NCC to the NSIC. Those schools that formed the NHC had to do so to stay on the top level of college hockey with the Big 10 and Hockey East.
Same for going to the Big Sky for all sports. UND really didn't have another option. The MVFC did not extend them an invitation. For the viability of their football program they had to send their sports to the Sky.
Where we can them grief is over the nickname, though, to be fair, I think we would fight to keep the Coyotes or Jackrabbits, but enough is enough already. The fight has been fought and lost, time to move on.
We can also give them grief over this scheduling strategy. I get UND wants to have a more western profile, but rejecting your regional rivals and turning away from 100 year old historic rivals is just a bad idea, IMO. UND could have the best of both worlds with regional rivals and a western profile. They appear to snubbing us out of spite.
