Just heard them running an ad that they want to hear from listeners (email) as to whether KVTK should continue to carry the Cubs. I can't believe this is happening or even a question. Summertime in Vermillion just wouldn't be the same without the Cubs on the radio.
My email has been sent.

The Cubs were a Culhane decision. Now it's a completely different ownership group. They want to see if enough people actually listen to them. Smart move, but I bet they get a good amount of emails to keep them.

Bad news. Looks like KVTK has indeed dropped the Cubs. I know there is an email campaign to bring them back as I just fired one off to them. This is so shortsighted in so many ways. I understand business decisions but they also need to understand station loyalty. I can listen to the canned crap, ESPN radio talking heads online or streaming over about a 100 different stations. Programming like the Cubs is what keeps me listening to KVTK. I no longer have a reason to listen to that station and it will now be deleted off my truck radio.
If you want send an email protest to sports@kvht.com .

Not a Cubs fan...a Brewers fan. But South and North Dakota dont have professional teams and it's sad when they stop covering them.
