ISU looks to have a solid defense From top to bottom- a physical OL - an All-American RB. On top of that it is a road game.
Shakir Bell could have a great day if the SD defense does not wrap up on their tackles. This years Yotes have not beaten every bit of optimism I have towards them, just most of it.
ISU 28 USD 13
Hope I am wrong. At least the game is on ESPN 3 - so we can watch.

Good points OBC. I still think this team has it in them to beat anybody remaining on their schedule if they get it together and play up to their abilities. Every game is an opportunity and you have to have a short memory as a coach and as players. Still keeping the faith that we can pull one out on the road.

This game will identify how much fight they have. If we go out and battle ISU, win or lose, that will make a statement. If we go out and lay an egg, it's over. They have a chance to get a couple of wins in the MVC yet. They have to play to win and exhibit they have more heart and character than what the general public thinks they have. I am going out on a limb here. Coyotes 31 Sycs. 23

I like the Yotes by a touch-down winning 28 to 21. I think we finally scheme one perfectly and shut Bell down forcing ISU to pass, setting up some INT's by our secondary. JVM spreads it around and has a better passing day than we have seen all season. I still think we have some serious untapped talent on this team.

Much as I would like to sic the Coyotes on the Sycamores (what would a Coyote do to a tree? hmm) I'm just hoping for a competitive game.
If the O-line ever improves and some level of confidence is gained I do think the Yotes have a shot at UNI in a few weeks.

This season has shown us that, talent-wise, we can be competitive within the conference. The danger heading into Indiana State is that we've now endured a string of brutal heartbreak and, most recently, flat out humiliation. Add to that our road woes, and this team has a very fragile psyche. Teams in this position typically collapse at the onset of adversity. I hope we find early momentum, but I'm afraid this one gets ugly if we find ourselves in an early hole.
Objective prediction:
ISU 34 USD 10
My hope:
USD 20 ISU 17

If the Yotes topple the Sycamores and no one is there to watch, will it still be a win?

Good luck today. State needs you to win this one.

The coaches are out of their minds if Earl doesn't play next week. I don't care if he was going against 2nd teamers - JVM would not make those throws. More undisciplined play from the Yotes this week with predictable results.
On top of it - when a team comes out as flat as they did today I blame the coaches and leadership. Even worse than last week.

I'm not saying that Josh is Carter Black and that Kevin Earl is Noah Shepard.... but I wanna see Kevin Earl start the next game. I remember Ed saying that JVM would either be the starting QB or safety. Maybe that's worth a second look.

Austin Summer(sp) from SDSU, who has been struggling this year, has 5 passing TD's against the YSU. Better put Earl at the helm and get the passing game geared up next Saturday.
