Gene Chizik out 2 years after winning the National Championship at Auburn. I don't know if there were problems there were not known about but if he can get fired two years after a Championship than just about anything is possible in the coaching ranks. It's definately not your normal profession to be in coaching. After no coaching changes initially had the lead the poll has reversed and the majority think there should at least be some changes to the coaching staff. Thankfully I am not the only one that thinks that. Besides multiple investigations of recruiting violations, including how they got Cam Newton and Michael Dyer, key cogs to the national title? How Auburn did not get nailed for the Cam Newton situation is crazy. They had Auburn dead to rights. The fact that the team was one of the worst SEC teams after winning and a title and seeing Malzahn leave and lead Arkansas State to a great season also shows that he was the mastermind behind the title win, not Chizik. This really doesn't show that anything is possible. Chizik is basically lucky that he didn't get canned for the Newton situation because that could've turned out just as bad as the Ohio State situation for Auburn.

Where I disagree with you is that you say we are not that far off, with a shake of the head I have to respectfully disagree. If you consider that were not that far off being a 3-5 MVFC team than you may be right. For the most part the Coyotes did not belong on the same field as the contenders in this conference. We are not close right now so it's not like an adjustment here and there will be enough. It's going to take an overhaul on something. We may simply not agree with what needs to be overhauled. Coach Glenn has a great resume but he did not coach well this season. We can all agree that something is amuck. I don't think it is simply just a player personell problem, some people do. I think it probably has to do with multiple things. What are you smoking, son? We were in position to win 5 games in the conference. The problem is that this team cannot close out games - a carry over issue from the Ed program - an attitude/culture that takes time to overhaul/repair. You can't just flip a switch and get kids to be good. You have a limited number of bodies that come in and out each year. It is a process. We can only change so much as time and the rules allow. Glenn was hired in January last year - he had little to no time to go out and recruit his own players, evaluate players, etc. Illinois St. 34-31 Western Illinois 24-17 Missouri St. 27-24 Youngstown St. 13-10 Northern Iowa 24-21 I watched all of the games and they were all winnable. That is three losses by the margin of a FG, one 4 point loss and the other was a single TD. I am smoking that long, hard, dark thing called reality. I wonder what you are smoking though. As I said the Yotes may have been close to being a 3-5 MVFC team but they were no where near being a contender for the conference championship. Even if the Yotes were 0-8 and lost every close game what that makes is a trend of losing close games which USD has firmly in their corner, unfortunately. You can argue all you want Cousin Eddie but anyone that considers the Coyotes "close" to anything but the conference doormat is watching and analysing a different game than I am. Maybe you see it as close but the Yotes got blown out by 3 of the 4 top teams and barely crawled within 3 at home to Illinois State. In essense that was a 10 point game. As a matter of fact the Yotes were so overmatched by NDSU I would have thought it was a high school team playing them instead of a college team. How can you honestly think the Coyotes were close to being a contender. That is drinking cool-aid that is about as red as one can make it. If we as Coyote Fans think we are close and administration agrees, than what all that does is takes away much of the urgency to get better. As a matter of fact I have not heard hardly any urgency being conveyed by almost anyone this off season. The only thing urgent being conveyed by most is to see how fast yours truly can be run off the board. The Coyotes will not get better by just saying it but by taking calculated and legitimate steps in that direction. By what I have seen so far that is not happening.

Coach Glenn said it hismelf on coyote corner. "All we need are birthdays, and kids to grow and get stronger during the offseason."

Never once did I say that we were close to being a contender. What I am getting at is your response to yotemeal that you didn't see progress/potential. To say that we couldn't take a 5 game swing next year is foolish - and don't read that to imply that we will, but we easily could. That is what I am talking about.
I never, in a million years, believed that we would contend for the conference this year. If you did, you are dumb. Period.
There are 3 MVFC teams in the playoffs this year. There were two others with a chance. This is the SEC of football this year. We are new. We can't just have 65 all star caliber players out of the blue. ARE YOU SERIOUS???
Go troll somewhere else.
