My round one pics
SDSU over EIU - close game - balance of the Jacks offense and stout defense (pass rush) rule the day
Bethune Cookman over Costal Carolina - total uninformed guess
Stony Brook over Villanova
Colgate over Wagner - can a team USD actually beat this year win a playoff game?
My bracket has Sam Houston State facing Georgia Southern in the finals with Sam Houston winning.

The jacks are better than we give them credit for. I say State wins 35-10.
I'll call the upset now. State beats the Bison by 6

Wofford beats New Hampshire
Georgia Southern beats Central Arkansas - will be a great game have to go with the home team here
Old Dominion over Coastal Carolina
Montana St over Stony Brook
Sam Houston St over Cal Poly - would love to see Poly win
App St over Illinois State - this will be a route
Eastern Washington over Wagner - not much of a game here

The jacks are better than we give them credit for. I say State wins 35-10. I'll call the upset now. State beats the Bison by 6 I think that is the closest-to-actual prediction I've seen (and hoping Yoteforever's prognostication ability carries through this coming Saturday). Most thought maybe a couple of TDs. Can't take anything away from EIU...SDSU played probably its best this year. Eastern Illinois plays constant no-huddle -- interesting game plan. In my section of the stands, consensus was USD > EIU. There's just a strength difference between the OVC champs and the MVFC teams including USD (but, I have to keep in mind EIU beat two MVFC teams this season).

EIU looked like a bottom half MVFC team to me. My guess would be they would beat USD though on a neutral field.
SDSU = Solid running game, physical defense, big strong technically sound OL and DL - tough to defeat.
SDSU is built to compete with NDSU. The jacks seem to be not quite as quick as the Bison but their Offensive and Defensive fronts are every bit as physical.
Game will come down to turnovers and special teams field position. Looking forward to watching.
Hope the USD players watch the game and focus on their position groups - they need to get in the weight room for some serious work this off-season.

Joe Glenn & Jevon Bowman (strength & conditioning coach) stressed working harder in the weight room in last Monday's coaches show. Bowman also tweeted this today -

NDSU over Wofford - looking forward to watching this matchup
Old Dominion over Georgia So. - another great matchup, think the home team wins - looks like they had over 20k for the last playoff game so that may be a factor
Montana State over SHSU - Cal Poly had SHSU's offense contained but a few personal fouls really cost the Mustangs leading to SHSU scores. MSUs defense will be as stout without the penalties.
EWU over Illinois State - still shocked ISU beat App State in Boone - still don't see them beating EWU in Cheney.

I'm with you obc on your predictions. Interesting to note there are two (Wofford and Georgia S.) teams that use the triple option. Should have had a third (Cal Poly) in the mix, too. I wonder if there are any other FCS teams that employ this type of offense, since the success rate of getting into the playoffs seems so high.
I predict that if either of the triple-o teams get ahead by the end of the first quarter, it will be a real dogfight. On the other hand, if they get behind by 10 points or more at the same point, it will be all over.

Caught the second half of the Montana State / Sam Houston State game last night. Montana had a key LB out but don't think it mattered. SHS won 34-16 and from my perspective Montana was never really in the game after the first quarter. The 6'2" 175 lb QB from SH ran the option flawlessly and had a pretty good short-to-mid range arm as well. Montana was touted as having a very good rushing defense but basically got ran over or out-quicked. SH execution of the option was excellent. Their kicking game was very good, too. Wish the Coyotes could do as well.
