Is the Spring Game going to be open to tailgating? I'd do it, but don't need campus security crawling up my rear about that whole "alcohol thingy". If not I'll just mosey on over to Pro's.

The fact that you are asking the question tells me the administration is not marketing the program well. You obviously are an avid tailgater at USD FB games. Why does the AD staff not send out notice to all Tailgaters of record that tailgating is open and encouraged for the Spring game? I know I have heard zero promotion of the Spring Game here in Sioux Falls.

Exactly, obc. As I've stated before, the "U" needs to market, market, market. There are absolutely no downsides to promoting the Coyote brand.

To call our Marketing and Promotions Dept. sub par would be a understatement.

I need to jump on this marketing discussion. If this should not be in this thread, sorry. I hate to pile on as maybe there is a giant marketing blitz forthcoming (one can hope). But is there any marketing of USD being done anywhere? Here in Sioux Falls, check out print media, online, billboards. Tons of Augie, SDSU, and USF. Have we really just given up on marketing to Sioux Falls, assuming all the SF folks will be attending and/or cheering for State? Seems like we should be a little more involved in a ?200,000? Metro area 60 miles away. I have been wanting to reach out to our 'marketing' dept on this issue. Maybe now is the time.

To hell with it. I'm gonna tailgate. Does the fan board want to get together and have one together?
Secondly, prior to the game, the women's volleyball team is having an alumni scrimmage. The reason I post this is because Coach Houk is slowly building a power, and I think it would be awesome to support them. He is doing all he can to get fans to watch them then head to the football game. Watch his video on our USD website.
Things are changing.
Anyone else like the idea of the posters on here tailgating together? If so, we can organize the chow and music.

Just got the green light to tailgate on the parking lot south of the dome, but not on the grass. I've been told the university fuzz will leave us alone.
Anyone interested?

I'm over a thousand miles away and not able to tailgate this weekend, but it is very discouraging that someone with USD is not doing a better job of promoting the opportunity. They have spring high school football in this state and kind of discouraging to think that the high schools might have more in attendance at their final scrimmage than USD might have at theirs.
I often notice that at odd times, there are one or two folks on this football site, even when nothing has been posted for days. Real football fans are starved for opportunities to talk about the team, see the team, and get information about the team, and kind of hate to see that interest not developed.

I'm going top see if I can rustle up a few in my regular crew to tailgate. If the weather stays like crap I see absolutley no reason to not tailgate. Nothing else to do.

I hate to say it, but I haven't seen much info on the Spring Game--what time is it and how much?

1:00 and should be free... but everyone's right, considerable lack of hype on things! Hopefully there will be more than 50 people there.

Alot of 2013 recruits will be attending the game because there is an early registration session for Fall classes that day. Hope the weather allows for us to make the 11 hour trip.
