Until last year the pollsters had zero reason to ever mark us as a top program. Then we had the best player in the FCS, but he graduated, so in their mind it's back to business as usual. They're wrong, but I get it. Gotta earn that respect. More importantly, preseason polls are absolute garbage and should never be taken seriously. They do give us something to talk about in June though.

Youngstown, UNI, Nicholls... I'm surprised North Dakota didn't make this awful list Gotta be about starting QB returning.

Times starting to be added to some games. Last home game a 1 start due to HS football championship weekend. No time listed for UNI game, which makes me curious. SIU & YSU games in evening. Presumably for heat at SIU, but should make for late nights of travel. K-State game @ 6. SDSU game @ 2. Still nothing on UNI game.

UNI game is on the same day as Hobo Days so likely some Midco telecast issues to work out. Possible, but they were the same time last year. Should be interesting to see how it ends up.

Isn’t the Big Sky losing UND?

Drake would be a new coach as well. If he wanted to be close to home, not sure Fargo passes the test. I can see it being Creighton or USD.

Believe they were hosting a recruit in the last couple days. I’m not overly concerned about coaching announcements or lack there of.

My understanding is they cut 24 football players this week and they weren’t all walk-ons. Cuts happen, but that seems like a whole lot. Lots of over signing going on or something up there.

Hearing tennis isn’t the only thing they cut at SDSU.

Ha! I wish. No and I am now certain that others can confirm this as it was mentioned at Lunch with the U, but one of the new assistant coaches is from Australia is supremely credentialed in Australian basketball and has watched Fakira play MANY times. Fakira was not recruited to the school that this assistant is presently employed by. I am sure that you can figure out the rest. Also, from what I understand, we are presently recruiting at least one (although I think more) Australian players. I think it is reasonable to assume that we could have kept Fakira. I was at Lunch with U. I can confirm this. Toddfather didn’t seem interested in Fakira or OK PG who went to USU. still hopeful on Greisel.

As a former tennis player, playing indoors is so tricky with ceiling heights. It might sound silly, but playing indoors is difficult. Too bad to see this happen anywhere.

Mick Garry article from last weekend made it seem like he wasn’t wanted here, so naturally I bet he gravitated to the people who recruited him.
