Never mind, it just wasn’t logging in correctly. Fixed it.

The game is not showing up on the Summit League Network for me. I see lots of other options, but not this game

Could be gossip but I heard Timmer out for the year at state and another one that tore Achilles out for the year. Timmer tore her ACL and is out for the season. I have not heard about anybody else being injured.

Sharing an update. Hannah‘s dad, Andy, went through a course of high dose chemo followed by a stem cell transplant, to replace / rebuild his bone marrow. While this is not a “cure”, it is a big step forward , and his cancer is currently in remission. He needs to rebuild his immune system, but hopes to be able to attend limited activities this winter. Thank you to all who reached out and all who sent prayers and well wishes. Coyote fans truly are the best.

I see that the Coyote ladies are on the schedules for Northern Iowa (11/29 at home) and Loyola Marymount (12/3 in CA). Not sure if there’s another west coast team on that trip, as most California schools have not yet posted their schedules….

The Yotes should be competitive in this game. DePaul has one 6’3 girl, but she is a freshman. They have a lot of freshman, and a few transfers. So they are in a similar situation as us. Head coach Doug Bruno has been there a long time and he’s very experienced, and is a very nice guy. Many of us parents talked to him a bit when we were down in St. Thomas two years ago.
If they win the first game, they will likely have to face Michigan. The article says that ESPN is picking up the championship game and the consolation, so if they win the first game, we will at least get to see one game on ESPN.

Or if you start a subscription early to mid-November, and pay for four months, you will have it through the tournament.

goyotes.com/news/2023/8/10/general-what-new-midco-summit-deal-means-for-usd.aspxThe Summit League is teaming up with Midco to create a Summit League network. In order to watch all sports, except football, you will need to have a Midco subscription. But this will also include tournament games. There are a lot of details in the article linked here. I’m not sure how this will affect historical archived games that we have access to now. Or if they will add any historical, archived games from previous years that we have not had access to.

Also, I think the team this year is going to be a lot stronger and have more cohesion than they did last year. I think Coach K will find what works with this group, especially if she doesn’t have to deal with all the injuries that plagued the team last year.

If you go back to the press conferences and news articles at the time, Dawn Staley was definitely willing to come to Vermillion for the second game. However, Covid happened. That changed the landscape for a lot of teams, for a lot of what they were able to do schedule-wise. Remember, the first time we played South Carolina, we played them closer than almost anyone in the nation. On their court. Coach Staley saw us as a quality opponent, worthy of a game on our court.

Currently, the WNIT has a 64-team format. This new WBIT is going to be inviting only 32 teams. Therefore, 32 fewer teams will be invited to play quality postseason tournaments. Smaller programs will lose out on opportunities.
