Not sure where to put this. Sounds like it is pretty well known around Nebraska that Dan Jackson is leaving SDSU and heading to Northern Illinois. He is one of SDSU's primary recruiters, particularly in Nebraska.

We can continue to complain and fulfill the stereotypes put on us by SDSU and the local media, or we can step up, show up and change the paradigm (a word SDSU grads don’t understand). If you are going to buy tickets and show up any way (upper, lower, suites, etc.), that is awesome! You are not the problem. On the other hand, if you are going to complain and not buy tickets at all because you can’t get tickets in the lower bowl, this is put up or shut up time. We can’t control the current ticket situation driven by the SF Sports Authority, but we can do our part in the meantime. This year we have a chance to do something on the court (M&W), the fans need to do their part to help off the court.

The tickets are pretty much in the same sections that have been open to the general public when they become available, which is in the corner. The upside is being able to sit along other USD fans so I pulled the trigger. Also there are more tickets, which is important.

Arkansas looks to be playing some nasty defense. They have held opponents to 43, 43, and 46 in non-exhibition games. Gave up 51 to SWOSU in the prior exhibition.

An ugly win, but a win none the less. Very rough, physical game. I think that's the way SIU-E wanted to play and the 'Yotes somewhat played right into their hands. Lots of holding, grabbing and shoving and more than one cheap shot away from the ball. The three point shooting had to come down to Earth at some point and tonight was the night, but it was nice to see Armstrong nail a few back to back toward the end to basically put the game on ice. Is it just me or does anyone else really like Ty Chisom's game? He is just so explosive. After he gets a bit more indoctrinated into the system I think he could be a big piece to the puzzle. Reminds me a lot of Trey Dickerson I can see that. I might add, with better size/length.

Thanks. Had a photo of the team with the Championship trophy. Cool trophy. Wooden top with the stereotypical Hawaiian dude. I’m gonna nickname it THE BIG KAHUNA YF, do you have any comments or perspective on the way we played? In particular, can you add some color to our performance against Florida A&M? I would have expected us to cruise in this one, but I also recognize we were playing back to back games AND maybe the team was looking past them as well after taking care of business against Hawaii.

Although we have a lot of seniors graduating on the men’s side, we also have two preferred walk-ons in AJ and Koster that will be taking scholarships next year. No idea who or how many will sign on Wednesday. Three would be max. This is correct. With AJ and Kanon taking two of the open scholarships, that only leaves 3. With the way Todd likes to hit the transfer market, I wouldn't be surprised to see us wait until the spring. That is, unless there is a foreign player waiting to sign that we are in the dark on. That was essentially what happened last fall as well.

Some thoughts from last night: It was so nice to see Hagedorn out there again. Early in the game he had a play where he went from the perimeter, blew by his guy and went past another in the lane to get underneath for a layup. It showed just how dynamic he can be. Big men aren't supposed to be able to just slide through the defense like that. The big surprise of the game for me was the play of Hunter Goodrick. He got a lot of minutes with Hagedorn in foul trouble and he made the most of it. Goodrick didn't look like a true freshman playing in his second college game whatsoever. Every part of his game was impressive. He scored underneath, grabbed huge rebounds on both ends of the floor, hit a 3 to silence the crowd, made free throws down the stretch, played excellent defense. I'm really excited to see how the year goes for him. Simpson is a stud. 8/11 for 22 points with some very tough shots. We've got enough tools around him that he could really shine this year whether we've got him at the 1 or the 2. It's clear he can do both very well. Jovic, Chisom, and Perrott-Hunt were all out on the floor together for about 5 minutes in the first half, along with Armstrong and either Simpson or Umude. It was an interesting lineup that held the lead and I think actually built it a little. We wouldn't see any of those guys again for the rest of the game though. I hope they get more time tonight against a much weaker Florida A&M team. Depth is about the only question I had about this team heading into the season so I'm anxious to see what our bench looks like. Hawaii made us beat them from the FT line and our guys did it. 21/26 in the second half. Goodrick was the only guy with 2 misses. Everyone else was perfect or missed 1. Kelley went 4/4 in the last 20 seconds to seal the win. I think I'd trust anyone on the floor to be at the line this year. Hawaii looks like they are going to be a tough team to beat in the Big West. I don't expect them to win it, but they're going to give everyone a lot of trouble. Taking a win from them in a hostile environment half way across the globe was a very impressive performance. The team needs to take it one game at a time, but as I look ahead I'm predicting we are 12-2 heading into conference play. I'll be disappointed if we lose to anyone besides Washington or Arkansas. The Yotes look really good this year. A lot of great comments here. I want to focus on Simpson for a minute. I think if we want to have the season we hope for, he is going to have to be our MVP. Umude or Hags may score more points or get more attention, but for this team to operate at the highest level, it is going to be up to Simpson. He is the engine that drives this bus, IMHO. He does everything and seems to be a consummate team player.

Agreed. Don't tease me with subscription only content. Pony up! The Athletic is well worth it. Here is the part of the mailbag about the Summit League, but the entire article lead was a giant picture of Umude. Who will win the Summit? — Luke B. Straight and to the point, Luke. I like it. South Dakota State has been the easy choice the past couple of years, but with both Mike Daum and T.J. Otzelberger moving on, this is probably a rebuilding year for the Jackrabbits. Did North Dakota State, which made the NCAA Tournament despite finishing the regular-season 15-15, turn the corner with its late run through the conference tournament? Or did the Bison just get hot at the right time? They do bring back pretty much everybody and were picked first in the preseason poll. I’ll go out on a small limb and say the Summit still goes through the state of South Dakota, just not Brookings. South Dakota has an experienced nucleus led by junior wing Stanley Umude and a couple of interesting international transfers. Let’s see if the Coyotes can make their first NCAA Tournament since joining Division I in 2008-09. "Let’s see if the Coyotes can make their first NCAA Tournament since joining Division I in 2008-09." I hate being all sensitive, but this quote is mildly irritating. Yes, we joined D-1 in 2008-09, but we weren't playoff eligible. We didn't join the Summit League until 2011. I don't think we were eligible for the SLT until 2012-13. Whatever. The point remains, we are due and need to step up!
