I loved the photo in the Tuesday Argus of the 5'6" Hemiller battling SDSU's 6'1" Clarin.
That photo says a lot about the kid.
Seekamp and Harrington get most of the ink (rightly so), but Hemiller is the engine that drives the Yote machine.

She came out of nowhere, and was a very big contributor to the team this season. She doesn't have size, but is an incredible fighter.

You can't coach heart! She is one of the hardest workers on the floor. I'd take her on my team everyday of the week.

It is a shame she didn't make the all tournament team.

Sorry for being lazy on looking up stats, but did I see correctly that Tia led the Summit League in defensive rebounds? If so, that in and of itself is amazing, if not, I apologize, but I know for a fact she is a great rebounder in addition to be an all-around great point guard.

Looked it up, 2nd in Defensive rebounds per game to A. Luke overall. (tied for about 4th in Conference games)
Like I said before, IMPRESSIVE !!

It is a shame she didn't make the all tournament team. No question she should have been on the all-tourney team. Perhaps they should have broken with tradition and named a six-person team. If they had a most-improved player in the conference, Hemiller would have everyone's vote. (Okay, I'm a little biased: Watertown native.)

Good teams tend to take the personality of their coach and I can tell you this, Tia Hemiller is Amy Williams reincarnated!!!!! This whole team is gritty, gutty and focused. Great team, but BETTER PEOPLE!!!!!! So happy for all of them.
