No worries. Just happened. It was a coincidence that it fell shortly after your post.

Hope that doesn't have any indication as to the status of Calvin strong.

Everything that I have heard down here in Omaha is that Calvin is solid USD. He is still a non qualifier at this time, so if he doesn't pass the ACT he wont be eligible if he signs. As long as he doesn't get a FBS offer, I have heard that he is all in to be a yote. That said, there is still a long time before we can make it official.

Nebraska FB All StateI am sure many of these players are on our coaches lists as potential recruits. Always lots of good FB players in Nebraska - we need to win some of these guys.

If he is I like him even more than I did before.
This kid sounds like a stud that will be a difference maker. If so maybe some "CAPTAIN STRONG" shirts are in the future for USD fans.

Debbie Downer post. As fans, we are putting way too much stock and hope into Calvin Strong. This will go one of two ways.
Scenario 1 - He somehow raises his GPA and ACT high enough to be accepted somewhere. Nebraska comes in with an offer. He's wearing a big "N" on his helmet for the next four years. He's said (can't remember if on twitter or in newspaper) that he would love to play for Nebraska.
Scenario 2 - His grades and ACT do not improve enough to get accepted. He goes to play JUCO (my guess would be Iowa Western or one of the bigger ones in Kansas). He will shine there for 2 years, then get picked up by an FBS program.
I hope with all my hope this young man becomes a coyote, and that last twitter post makes it seem that he likes the idea. But let's not forget he is still not eligible to go to college.

I understand all of that fightsd, doesn't mean that I can't like the guys Twitter post. I found it humorous.

Don't forget about the mysterious "grayshirt". I believe our last big talent, Tyler Starr, went this route out of high school when he could've gone juco. get him on campus, get his grades straightened out, get him on the field the next year. It won't help us next year, but we saw the difference Starr made in his 2-3 years that he was eligible.

The difference between situations here is that Starr was accepted into the university out of high school. It wasn't until he got here that his grades fell and he became ineligible.

I am pretty sure that Starr was a non-qualifier out of High school due to ACT scores. I know that he was gray shirted his 1st year, and then I think he struggled his 2nd year and became academically ineligible again. Either way, if we can get Strong to sign a letter of intent, gray shirt is a worst case scenario. Hopefully he will sign, then pass his ACT in the spring, and began his assault on the MVFC in the fall.
