Former USD head football coach, Beanie Cooper, passed away yesterday with his family at his side.
Beanie coached at USD from 1975-1978, and his '78 squad was the North Central Conference champs. From there he went on to be the AD at Indiana State, till he retired back in Sioux City. His sons, Pat and Tim, both played for coach, as did his son in law Nick Merrigan.
I'm asking all Coyote fans to please keep the Cooper family in your prayers this week. Visitation is Tuesday from 5-8 at Larkin Funeral Home in SC. The funeral is set for 10:30 at St. Michaels Catholic Church in SC.
