Boss had 11 rebounds and 6 blocks, Hegge had 17 points, 6 rebounds and 10 turnovers but she hasn't practiced for 2 weeks.
Ryun Williams interview
proud of ladies for making enough plays eventhough the offense wasn't clicking. Made big free throws. Kids competed hard. Coaches confused at times with certain lineups. Team needed to be tested and good learning experience. Played very inexperienced. Said the worst team has played since practive began. Said Hegge gutted it out, she was hurting. Said Boss changed shots, is an athletic 6'4", has good timing. Boss can switch well and guard outside as well. Need more inside points. Need to battle harder. Freshman played like Freshman alot of times. Game needs to settle down a bit for the young ones. USD had 2 field goals in last 10 minutes of the game. Organized in OT, win a close one where many of them went against USD last year. Not pretty but a win is a win.

Congratulations on an early season win. It's always nice to get the opener in the W column. For me, beating a Big Sky team makes it even better.

Good win by USD. There was an offensive lapse again, but this time around USD got past it and came back for the win on the road for that opening season win. I think that's a pretty good sign right there.
Once again, it seems like this team is going to play good defense again. Jodie Boss has six blocks, and Hegge had one as well. Boss is going to be a force down low, plain and simple.
Yackley hit four of her seven three pointers in the game so that was huge. Hegge was playing with that wrist injury too, so good game out of her.
Very tough game ahead against Kansas, who has very good size all around. Two exhibition games and six blocks each for tow of their players, so it should be a good battle down low for Boss. Kansas also has some good experience coming back and the Fogg Allen Fieldhouse is a very tough place to play.

#1CF,
I was impressed with what I saw from Boss and from Yackley as she plays very fast. Hopefully in time the Yotes will become a better offensive team. I think the offense can get better with experience. What cannot be taught, or at least what cannot be changed in short time is the tenacity and heart that the team put forth in the game. They really put it out there on the court and you can tell they are taught to play good defense. I will take the kind of team that we are seeing right now despite the struggles on offense vs a team that flows good on offense but doesn't excell in the hustle aspect of the game.
As long as the tenancity stays the same if the offense gets a bit better the Yotes will be a good team. Since USD has alot of new faces playing big minutes there is definately optimism on the horizon.
