It helps that 2 of the recent cuts were LBs too including Pat Angerer former Colt LB.

The NFL has changed a little bit in that I believe they are allowing more on the practice roster now in order to develop those players for the future.
Good luck Tyler. No matter what happens just know that you are good enough and will stick somewhere. Probably would have had a better chance to stick on a roster if he would have been an undrafted FA and gone to a place where he had a better chance of making a roster but getting drafted is something that can never be taken away.

NFL practice rosters this year are increased from 8 to 10. That decision was just finalized a couple of weeks ago.

If that is the case, I believe he has to clear waivers before the Falcons can lock him up on the practice squad. You are right on that. In order to end up on the practice squad, you do have to clear waivers. |

IMO spending a year on the practice squad could be a great thing for him. Focusing 100% on gaining more strength and making strides improving his technique would help immensely. |

The Falcons waived Smith this morning, meaning Tyler Starr should make the final roster!

Difference is that the Argus beat writer was with the USD team at the actual game. There will be something about it soon enough, I am sure.
The plane with the team and media landed this morning in Sioux Falls at 6AM.
